This is the Tier 6 tradeskill quest for all artisan classes.

Quest Walkthrough

The grandmaster wants you to seek a missing trading liaison who may need help. You'll be doing a lot of crafting in this one, you may find the crafting stations in Maj'Dul at the Golden Scepter more convenient than running to your home town. Portable crafting stations have also been recommended.

Look around The Sinking Sands for the trade liaison. The areas near the beaches are probably a good place to start.

Find Vanesta Leaftraveller very sick in the Sinking Sands at -1157, -212, -273 .

Vanesta gives you Emergency Shelter for Dummies. Take pity on her - scribe it and make her a tent so she can get out of the sun.

The recipe is "Rough Tent" and is made on the Sewing Table with the Binding skill (which is one of those auto-leveling alt-arts). You'll need:

When you've made the a rough tent (it won't actually be in your inventory, but the quest updates), return to poor, violently ill Vanesta.

The poor girl's really miserable, so check the traders and merchants nearby to see if they have a cure for her.

find a shady dervish merchant and purchase Bert's Big Book of Health. Scribe the recipes.

You are now gonna run in circles making recipes one at a time for poor, pathetic Vanesta. WARNING: There is no shortcut, you must create the recipes in the order the quest gives you. All the recipes use the auto-leveling "alt-arts".

Make the antifungal recipe and try it on Vanesta. You'll need:

1 conger eel, 1 rough nacre, 2 soluble loams, 4 lambent candles (fuel) and a chemistry table.

Next try an Energy Drink on her. You'll need:

2 Maj'dul coffee beans, 1 liquid (such as aerated mineral water), 1 lambent kindling (fuel) and a stove.

Now make the Plague Remedy for her. You'll need:

1 succulent root, 4 rough nacres, 4 beryllium clusters, 6 lambent incense (fuel) and an engraved desk.

As a last resort, try the acupuncture kit. You'll need:

5 indium clusters, 3 stonehide leather pelts, 2 severed sandalwoods, 6 lambent coals, and a forge.

You've learned your lesson, go tell the Grandmaster about it.

I have been sent to find a missing trading liaison who may be in need of assistance. I'm no expert in these things, but I'll do my best to help.

Stage 1

I need to locate the trade liaison that the Grandmaster mentioned.

Start:	I will look around the Sinking Sands for the trade liaison. The areas near the beaches are probably a good place to start.

The trading liaison needs shelter to get her out of the sun and let her lie down for a rest.

Start:	I will make a tent to shelter the injured trading liaison.

I will put together some shelter for the sick trade liaison.

Start:	I must return with the tent.
Complete:	I returned with a tent.

Stage 4

I need to find some ideas about how to cure the trade liaison.

Start:	I wonder if any of the traders and merchants around here have anything that might help cure the trade liaison.
Complete:	I found a merchant with a recipe book of unknown origins.

I located a book of recipes that might be worth trying.

Stage 5

I'll try this recipe that looks like an antifungal potion.

Start:	The liaison mentioned a mushroom infestation she'd seen in Darklight Wood. Maybe a fungus potion will help.
Complete:	I managed to create the "fungus potion".

I created the antifungal potion.

Stage 6

I need to give this potion to the trade liaison.

Start:	I should return to the trade liaison with the potion.
Complete:	I returned to the trade liaison.

I gave the potion to the trade liaison.

Stage 7

I think I may have given the trade liaison the wrong thing, she seems almost comatose now. I'd better try something else.

Start:	I will make an energy drink to perk up the trade liaison!
Complete:	I completed an energy drink for the liaison.

I've come up with plan B!

Stage 8

I will return to the trade liaision and see if this energy drink helps.

Start:	I'd better give this drink to the trade liaison as soon as possible.
Complete:	I gave the drink to the trade liaison.

I returned to the trade liaison with the energy drink.

Stage 9

I need to try something else to help the trade liaison.

Start:	Maybe a plague remedy spell will help?
Complete:	I created a plague remedy spell.

I tried making a plague cure spell.

I will offer the trade liaison this spell.

Start:	I hope this plague cure spell scroll helps the trade liaison.
Complete:	I gave the plague cure spell to the trade liaison.

I need to think of something else to try.

Start:	There's only one recipe left in this book, I suppose I may as well try it.

I tried the only thing left I could think of.

Don't forget to bring around 5 Gold to purchase Bert's Big Book of Health, from the Shady Merchant. If you have all your materials & portable crafting tables it bites to have to make a trip back to the bank just for the money to purchase the Book of Health.

Very nice walkthrough for this quest. I'd also recommend for crafters to make / buy portable crafting stations before heading to SS, as it saves a lot of running.
