An orc, General Fandrak, has hired me to retrieve the lost soul of an ancient orc horticulturist named Tarinax. I must search for the mythical dungeon of the Obelisk of Lost Souls where the soul is rumored to have been swept away to.
I discovered the container that holds the soul of Tarinax, but it's locked.
I obtained three shadowed medallions that open the soul container of Tarinax.
I found an outlet that will allow the siphoning of the soul with the right vessel.
I obtained a soul container that may be able to transport the soul of Tarinax.
I siphoned the soul of Tarinax the sower. It is in a soul canister.
I gave the soul of Tarinax to the orc General Fandrak in Feerrott.I rescued the soul of Tarinax the sower from the depths of the mythical dungeon called the Obelisk of Lost Souls. I handed it to General Fandrak the orc that hired me to find it.
Stage 1

General Fandrak in The Feerrott ( -90,14,227 ) asks you to retrieve the Lost Soul of Tarinax from The Chamber of Contained Souls. This quest takes you to The Obelisk of Lost Souls. To progress in it you will need to also do the Entrance Into the Obelisk quest once inside of the Anchor Cavern.
The first step is to examine an urn. Go to the The Obelisk of Lost Souls. Find The Chamber of Contained Souls (the room with the Evil Eyes and the spiraling stair case). The urn is at the top, at -22,618,332 .
After that you need to kill different types of shadowed men in the Anchor Cavern:
- a shadowed man associated with an eye (a shadowed rift watcher)
- a shadowed man associated with a mouth (a shadowed evocator)
- a shadowed man associated with a stripped soul (a shadowed soulflayer)
After doing this you must return to touch the urn in the Obelisk.
You will then need to kill more shadowed men with an acolyte symbol to find a way to remove the souls again. This is from the shadowed acolytes in The Chamber of Summoning.
After killing them you must return to the urn in the Obelisk, and then to General Fandrak in The Feerrott.

Usual EQ2 garbage...
I have been trying to get an acolyte to spawn for 4 hours in both the Harbinger room and the room with the book. Have killed nothing but protecters, torturers, and mistscreamers...
Im thinking this is a ridiculous waste of my life.

You can find all three types of shadowed men in the outer part of Obelisk, which is accessed from lower zones, like Antonica, Commonlands, Nek and TS.
I was looking for them inside the Obelisk and only saw soulflayers.

The General's true location is within the hidden alcove in Feerrott @ Loc: -82, 16, 231. The Shadowed Soulflayers I found within the Obelisk, the Shadowed Evocators and Rift Watchers are outside the Obelisk and some of them are the PHs for the nameds that spawn for access into the Obelisk.

I'm blind or blonde, one of the two...I ran around for hours and only got 1 of the 3 updates for the shadowmen. I died and the place they revive you in had the other 2 for me. Is there a way to get there without dying? Then to get out, you can "call" or there is a blue fog. It took me to Commonlands and my friend to Enchanted Lands. They're messing with me...

There's 2 rooms with eyes and a spiral case, so here's a (probably confusing) explanation of how to get there (It's the one where Troxlep spawns).
From the entrance, go down to the first intersection, and turn right.
Go all the way down, and follow the path to the left.
Take the first left, and left right after and You're there.

THe Shadowman acolyte is not a named. It is a regular mob that spawns along with 2 othes around the Book of Summoning.
Just camp him til ya get a acolyte.

After I completed this quest. I got offer 2 choices of items.
1) Ortallian Blackhook Tunic: 9int, 6str, 28health, 20power, 280vscold, 240vspoison. Mitigation (305 at 43), Req: Light armor (185), Mastery (215).
2) Ortallian Sand Shroud: 9agi, 6wis, 23health, 25power, 240vsdisease, 280vsheat, Mitigation (46 at 44), Req: VLA(190), Mastery(220), slot: hands

Just completed this without having to kill the Acolyte, I was able to get an update killing the shadowmen around the book of summoning

After killing the three shadowmen outside, you need to touch the urn. Then kill the acolyte, touch the urn again (dont need to see the general between each). Once you touch the urn after killing the acolyte, then you go see General Fandrak.

Just finished this quest and reward is 1-2gold, a choice of two armor peices, and it also starts a new quest in Everfrost called 'Hearts of Ice'

Does this pot in the room with the spiral staircase and ey only pop at certain times? or has it now moved toa different area..because i have looked many times and can find no interactive pot in the entire room.

The Shadowman witht he symbol of the acolyte is in fact a Shadowman Acolyte. It spawned in side the Obleisk in the room witht he Book of Summoning. Killed it! Got update. Had to revisit the Urn in the Obelisk. That sends me back to Feerrott to the quest giver.

figuredi t out, to get to next step you need to return to the pot after youve collected the souls, you put them in the container, then it gives you another path, you need to kill more shadowmen with a acolyte symbol to "find a way to remove the souls again"

You should note that acess quest Entrance into the Obelisk is required to get inside which is along quest.

After examining the Pot, you can head down into the front yard and just clear the Shadowmen, youll get all the Updated items from a few short pulls (3 pulls for 3 drops for me) afte rthat return to general, but this part seems bugged as the quest tells me to return them to him, but he wont accept the container of souls.
