Managed him solo on a 49 necro just now, no exceptional gear or anything. Got nuked the first time but the second time I just used my mage pet and went for a quick kill and got him before he nuked.

Dropped him solo 51 warden.. nuke hurts keep ward up
Level 62 monk, killed him, but just barely.

Took down today with myself, 53 Paladin, and a 62 Guardian and 51 Assassin. Wasn't a hard fight... just make sure you interrupt his spell casting. Kick, bash... whatever you have.

Took him down with 52 illusionist, 51 wizard.
Mez, Double root, Stifle, ice-comet+paralyze, remez. Rince and repeat.
He died at the seventh round :)

Tried him today as lvl 59 Wizard. He nuked me for 12795 dmg, I was instant down Oo

Respawn time was about 5 minutes or there abouts.

Just took this guy down with only me a level 58 Shadowknight and a guildie, who was a level 60 Beserker. If you try this. Be sure to off tank this guy. This was our stradegy:
Was my quest so I had to hail. Before I hailed I put up Henious Blessing, SKs ward that give life as damage is taken. Then hailed and pulled back to 60 zerker.
Zerker taunted off me and held aggro. Together we kept him on the ground with stuns and knockbacks. I used pet and got my HP up to full through life taps and the like. Also used Ruinos Touch Adept 3 to take away very little of this mobs health.
Zerker started to get to low HP. Into the red. So I used SKs rescue ability to put myself at top of hate list immediately. And with full health and Henious blessing up again. Before using rescue. I kept taunting. And he dropped shortly after.
Also for additional information. When I had to take aggro from Zerker to keep us from wiping, this mob was down to 25% health.
So off tanking works as well if short handed on healers and casters. All you need is two beefed up tanks. End.

Took him down today, 51 warlock, 51 necro and myself 48 defiler. Continous trading of roots, nukes and stuns by the casters. With continous wards, and rez's, while i was out of range but they were in, warlock only died twice, i took aggro and rushed back after 3 deaths. most impressive display yet of the power of mages. Incidentally, we added a tank after first go at it and completely wiped quick.

I soloed this guy as a lvl 57 wizard. Heres my strat.
First off dont hail him at all. Get in front of him and back up as far as you can without being out of range of your ice comet/rooting spells. You should also be able to cast paralyze, flamestrike, etc...
Now cast ice comet/paralyze/root then back away. When your ice comet is out of range so is his. Now wait...
When he unroots and comes at you, run at him and root him halfway towards him. Then cast ice comet/paralyze/root again. Back up until ice comet is out of range.
When you are on your last round of this, hail him then. He will still say the same thing and, funny enough, will stand up and gesture and so cant cast ice comet during that time. Finish him off.
Once i realized this strategy it took me two tries. Good luck.

First time facing him - Lvl 53 Bruiser was my tank and I'm a lvl 52 Defiler. El'Khazi hit my tank for 17K! Then two hits and I was down!
Next time - Lvl 60 Berserker, lvl 60 Templar, Lvl 59 Shadowknight, Lvl 54 Bruiser, Lvl 59 Coercer, Lvl 53 Defiler....needless to say, we kicked his butt. Overkill

Killed him last night with just a 60 wizard and a 56 templar, keeping him rooted is a must. You also need to keep an eye out for when he casts Ice Comet, when you see him beginning to cast, use a stun or stifle. I got lucky and resisted one he threw at me, but otherwise it's lights out. Root, stifle, and burn him down.

Bring a 'Zerker. I finished this part last night and it was cake despite everyones fears. I just chain stunned and interrupted him. From the moment he agroed i interrupted him with my taunts that interrupt, then when he got to where i was pulling i began the stunning. Barely dropped to the yellow health wise, and it was only for a moment before i was back to green.

Very careful with this guy especially after changes with yellow/orange con.
Did him a couple times. The times we suceeded, we did with ease, and the time we lost, we got wiped real quick. Watch his casts, his ice comet is insta-kill =)
BTW: Ogaming, if you could please add the 4th part of the quest, that would be great =)

Since the changes its up to 28K+ dmg, but our group managed to take him out with 5 50s and a 48, and another 50 was healing us from outside the battle (Thanks again Hershe) :)
Best tactic is to have an enc with a strong root, chain root and stay out of range, and blast him down with mages (if your all under 51 hehe) and meanwhile have at least two tanks stunning and getting aggro... worked like a charm for us!

Wow, wish I had read this before this guy hit me for +15K damage, only one hit. But then again I am a Lv50 necro. And yes I agree, bring a couple meat shields.

BIG FYI here, do not attemot to solo. get a group and make sure at least one of them can Stifle. If not you will be Ice Comet'd for 12k dmg( thats what the tank in our group said he got) he also hits for 550-900 dmg. He can be found in the marketplace.

I'm no simple courier, but if there's a carpet in the deal, what's the harm in delivering a simple message to a merchant? What could go wrong? I should take a magic carpet to arrive at the city of Maj'Dul.
El'khazi's message was received by Kwi'the. Loud and clear.
I've returned to El'khazi.Stiffed on the carpet again! That mangy rat El'khazi is really starting to get on my last nerve. There's going to have to be some mighty big incentive before I'll even think about doing anything else for this shifty merchant.

This is the third of four quests for the Desert of Flames flying carpets. It is given by El'Khazi, Purveyor of Fine Carpets.
Note that the dialog boxes to click through to start this quest are not in the normal way, as more than one requires the second response, not the first one, to proceed correctly. Besides, take your time and read them. They are actually rather humorous.
You are asked to deliver a letter to Kwi'the Il'zhe in Maj'Dul 122.18, 139.32, -26.78 . Bring a group with you because he will attack you afterward. Kill him and return to El'Khazi, Purveyor of Fine Carpets to complete the quest.
