Start: | I must find Watcher Lirosi and learn why he hasn't reported in. |
---|
Complete: | I've found Lirosi drunk in a tavern and straightened him out. |
---|
I've managed to track Lirosi to a tavern in the Stonestair Byway where he was hiding himself at the bottom of a tankard. After a little strongarm persuasion, I've convinced him to report back in to the Emissaries.Stage 15
Looks like Lirosi was given an assignment to travel to Kunark on behalf of the Emissaries, but he was too scared to complete his mission. He felt that hiding out in a tavern and drinking away his fear was the best solution. I'm sure he's in for some serious punishment for this offense.
Start: | Report back to the Preceptor with your results. |
---|
Complete: | I've reported my findings to the Preceptor. |
---|
I've returned to Preceptor Nyjuss and informed him of my findings.Stage 16
Preceptor has informed me that word has been passed down from the Bearer that Freeport spies within the Ebon Mask have learned of an ancient tome that was written in an unreadable ancient language. They believe that someone from the Ebon Mask has fled with it to Kunark and it's my job to find them. I'm willing to bet that this is the other half to the tome I found on Rhylinil in Neriak.
Start: | I must travel to Kunark, track the one that carries the ancient tome and claim it in the name of the Emissaries. |
---|
Complete: | I found the book in the possession of Morticus Belaern, an assassin of the Ebon Mask. |

I've slain an Ebon Mask assassin named Morticus Belaern and retrieved the book. The book I found on his body is very similar in appearance to the book I took off the body of Rhylinil in Neriak.Stage 17
Return the book you have collected to the Preceptor, he will be anxious to learn of its whereabouts.
Start: | Deliver the tome to the Preceptor. |
---|
Complete: | I've given the book to the Preceptor. |
---|
I've delivered the book to the Preceptor as told, though oddly enough it bears the same markings and unknown language as the other book I found on the corpse of Rhylinil.Stage 18
I need to find someone that can identify this book, since it seems that the Freeport Emissaries currently lack the resources to accomplish this. No one in Freeport has that kind of knowledge, not even the Academy of Arcane Science so I must search elsewhere.
Start: | Find someone that can identify these two tomes. |
---|
Complete: | Looks like Old Man Pomerenke was able to give me some information. |
---|
Looks like Old Man Pomerenke in the Steppes was able to help me identify these books. Now I need to find someone that can translate Shisik.Stage 19
With these two tomes in my possession, I must now see if the old man was telling the truth by traveling to Kunark to find a Shisik translator. Where in the void am I going to find a Shisik translator?
Start: | I must travel to Kunark in search of a Shisik translator. |
---|
Complete: | I have located a Shisik translator! |
---|
I have found an iksar loyal to Venril that can read Shisik and is willing to help me. I should speak with her after she has had some time to translate the tomes I have given her.Stage 20
Now that I have given her the tomes and paid for the service, I should give her a moment to translate them.
Start: | Give Kuza Sathak a moment to translate the tomes. |
---|
Complete: | Kuza Sathak is finished studying the tomes. |
---|
Start: | Speak with Kuza and see what she has learned from the tomes. |
---|
Complete: | |
---|
I've retrieved the tomes from Kuza, but they still need to be translated. She has told me that the tomes are bound with an old and powerful spell that prevents them from being read. I must slay the creature that placed this spell upon the tomes if I am to get these translated.Stage 21
In order for me to get these tomes translated, I must first remove the spell that is preventing them from being read. Kuza Sathak has told me that the spell is old and powerful and not to rule out the idea of both living and undead beings as possible targets. One last thing she mentioned is that the magic felt slightly familiar to her, which could mean that it was some form of magic used on Kunark many years ago.
Start: | I must find and slay the creature that placed the spell upon the tomes. |
---|
Complete: | Drusella Sathir was the creature! The tomes have bound themselves together! |
---|
Looks like Drusella Sathir, Venril's undead wife was the creature that placed the spell upon these old tomes. Slaying her physical form was enough to release the spell, forging the two tome pieces into one book! It looks like the spell is gone, allowing me to have Kuza read these tomes and translate them.Stage 22
Slaying the undead iksar Drusella freed the halves of the tome from their spell and bound them together into one tome. I should now take this complete tome back to Kuza and see what she can tell me about the book.
Start: | Return to Kuza Sathak and have her translate the tome. |
---|
Complete: | I've given the disenchanted tome for Kuza to translate. I must return after she has finished. |
---|
Kuza now has the tome in her possession and is translating the Shisik tongue into Common. I should return to her after a while, giving her enough time to complete the translation.Stage 23
Give Kuza Sathak some time to translate the tome from the Shisik tongue into Common.
Start: | Get the translated tome from Kuza when she is finished. |
---|
Complete: | I've obtained the translated tome from Kuza. |
---|
I've got the translated book in my possession. I should get this back to the Preceptor.Stage 24
Take the recently translated tome to Preceptor Nyjuss, he will be very happy to learn that the book is now free of its magical encryption and that it has been translated into the Common tongue.
Start: | Take the translated tome back to the Preceptor as instructed. |
---|
Complete: | The tome has been delivered, completing the mission. |
---|
The tome has been delivered to the Preceptor as ordered.Stage 25
Due to my proven loyalty to the Emissaries of Freeport and the Overlord, I have been promoted to Constable. My first task as Constable is to try and discover what temple is mentioned in the tome I translated for the Preceptor. I was told that the tome only mentions that the 'key' is to be stored in a temple where an ancient being sits in a deep slumber through the ages.
Start: | Discover the location of the temple mentioned in the tome. |
---|
Complete: | I've found the temple! |
---|
Looks like I've finally found the temple, whomever scribed that tome must have hidden the 'key' in Chelsith somewhere.Stage 26
Now that I've located the correct temple, I must try and see if I can find the 'key' mentioned in the tome. I'm sure it's got to be in the murky ruins of Chelsith.
Start: | Search Chelsith for any clues. |
---|
Complete: | Praying at the temple artifacts revealed a chest. |
---|
Praying at the various shrines within the temple of Chelsith revealed a chest of some sort at the foot of the main shrine. The chest must have been hidden magically and only by praying together as a group was it revealed.Stage 27
Praying at the artifacts within the old Yha-lei ruins of Chelsith revealed a chest that had been hidden by magic. I'm willing to bet that the key the tome mentions is inside that chest, I should attempt to open in and reveal its contents.
Start: | Attempt to open the chest and reveal its contents. |
---|
Complete: | I've slain the Protector of the Blade and unlocked the chest! |
---|
Start: | Open the chest and claim its contents. |
---|
Complete: | I've collected some sort of amulet from the chest. |
---|
Attempting to open the chest summoned forth a very large droag that called itself the Protector of the Blade. Just before the demise of the creature, it mentioned something about a blade and our search will fail, even with the amulet. It seems that some sort of amulet was locked within this chest.Stage 28
Now that I have this strange amulet from the chest that was guarded by the Protector of the Blade, I should try and find a use for it. I'm sure there are other droags involved in its use, since this was a droag that was protecting this amulet. He also mentioned something about the dragons as well, so I'm quite sure they are involved to some extent.
Start: | Discover a use for the amulet. |
---|
Complete: | Holding the amulet and reading the encased scrolls at the Dracurion towers in Jarsath Wastes opened some sort of portal. |
---|
Start: | Discover what you've just unleashed in Jarsath Wastes. |
---|
Complete: | Slaying the phantasmal droag gave me the Fang of Ichor! |
---|
It turns out that the amulet I recovered from Chelsith worked as a key that when held while reading the draconic scrolls in Jarsath Wastes, opened a portal between Norrath and the void. While open, a celestial droag stepped through. This droag must have been sent there with the Fang of Ichor weapon by the dragons to keep it safe.Stage 29
Now that you have uncovered the location and obtained the Fang of Ichor, you are to deliver it to Preceptor Nyjuss so it can be handed over to the Overlord for its safekeeping.
Start: | Deliver the Fang of Ichor to Preceptor Nyjuss. |
---|
Complete: | I've made my decision. |
---|
I've made my decision regarding the Fang of Ichor; the one that's always in the best interest of everyone important: me. The ancient weapon crafted by the Demigod of Pain, Saryrn has been found and a choice has been laid at my feet. Should I deliver the weapon to the Controller and remain true to my sworn allegiance to the Emissaries of Freeport and the Overlord or shall I keep the weapon and work with the Preceptor for my own ends? This is a tough choice that I must make, but in the end I'm sure my decision will be the right one.
