	This article refers to events, personae and activities that were introduced for the Shard of Hate World Event, which went live with GU44 on 4/8/2008, and ended 5/12/2008 with GU45. This record is being kept for historical purposes. Any quests from this event that are still in your quest journal should be deleted.

Starting the Quest

Every evil-aligned city and many of the villages have a "satisfied" or "delighted" NPC that starts this quest:

In North Freeport, speak with a delighted human at ( -31,-20,-300 )
In Neriak, speak with a satisfied darkelf at ( -6,-17,-54 )
In Gorowyn, speak with a delighted human at ( -18,-11,-76 )

Steps

Speak with Xilania Nevagon, the Seraph of Hate in The Spires of Innoruuk in Neriak, City of Hate (-496, 45.94, 272)
Go to the Nightsong Opera House and kill Sorndinn De'Tretlar. The Opera House can be found at (-672, 29, -28). Go into the building and up towards the stage area to trigger Sorndinn, who will spawn and attack you. He is a solo mob who scales to your level.
Return to Xilania after killing Sorndinn. She now sends you to speak with Sabstin V'Despth, Priestess of Hate (-249, 28, 170).
Sabstin needs you to harvest 12 rancor quartz; these are small rocks that spawn along the rock walls within Neriak.
After harvesting the 12 quartz, return to Sabstin. Next you must go out into Darklight Wood and bury the 12 rancor quartz near the settlements. To do this, click on the small dirt piles found near the areas with NPCs

5 dirt piles can be found around Hate's Envy (-427, -62, 245)
3 can be found near T'Vatar Post (-370, -48, 37)
3 can be found near Wanderlust Fair (261, -20. -11)
2 can be found near Warpfont Spire (-92, -36, 282)
One can be found near Sableflame Crater (124, -45, 32)
Other individual ones can be found on or near the roads, or by Shadow Oak (435, -32, -255)

After burying the 12 crystals, return to Sabstin for your reward.

I met a Disciple of Hate, who was reveling in the discord and chaos that has broken out across Norrath, lately. Upon showing an interest in helping their cause, the disciple smiled and referred me to the Seraph of Hate, herself. I will do my best to serve The Prince of Hate, in any way she allows!

Stage 1

I was told by the Disciple of Hate to speak with Xilania Nevagon, the Seraph of Hate. She resides within the Spires of Innoruuk in the city of Neriak.

Start:	I must offer my services to Xilania Nevagon, the Seraph of Hate.
Complete:	I spoke with Xilania Nevagon.

I spoke with Xilania Nevagon, the Seraph of Hate.

Stage 2

Xilania Nevagon has entrusted me with spreading the hate further, by killing a supporter of Queen Cristanos.

Start:	I am to slay Sorndinn De'Tretlar. He was last seen in the Nightsong Opera House.
Complete:	I have slain Sorndinn De'Tretlar in the name of Innoruuk!

Start:	I must return to Xilania Nevagon and tell her of my success.
Complete:	I told Xilania Nevagon of my success.

Xilania Nevagon, the Seraph of Hate, was pleased I had slain Sorndinn De'Tretlar. She informed me that he was a traitor, and that I have now proven my allegiance to The Dead.

Stage 3

Now that the Seraph of Hate has deemed me loyal to the cause, I have been told to see a Priestess of Hate named Sabstin V'Despth.

Start:	Sabstin V'Despth, a Priestess of Hate, can be found within the Spires of Innoruuk.
Complete:	Sabstin V'Despth, a Priestess of Hate, told me all about the newly accessible Shard of Hate, and how they are attempting to strengthen it through spreading more hate in Norrath.

Start:	I am to harvest 12 rancor quartz gems from around Neriak.
Complete:	I harvested enough rancor quartz for the Priestess of Hate.

Start:	I should return to the Priestess of Hate, Sabstin V'Despth, as soon as possible with the rancor quartz.
Complete:	I gave all the rancor quartz to the Priestess of Hate.

I harvested rancor quartz gems for the Priestess of Hate. They are to be used throughout Norrath, in order to help spread hate and thus strengthen the newly accessed Shard of Hate.

Stage 4

Sabstin V'Despth has allowed me to help in their campaign to spread hate throughout Norrath!

Start:	I am to bury malefic quartz gems in soft piles of soil near settlements within Darklight Wood.
Complete:	I have buried all of the hate emanating quartz.

I have helped Sabstin V'Despth, a Priestess of Hate, strengthen the Shard of Hate by spreading hate throughout Norrath.

Stage 5

I should return to Priestess V'Despth at the Spires of Innoruuk in Neriak.

Start:	I should report back to Priestess V'Despth and tell her of my success within Darklight Wood.
Complete:	I spoke with Priestess V'Despth.

Priestess V'Despth was very pleased with my progress and my dedication towards The Prince of Hate.

Priestess V'Despth was very pleased with my progress and my dedication towards The Prince of Hate. She rewarded me with a huge box of malefic quartz that I can keep!
