I should seek out a surviving member of the Slezaf family. I know they at one time lived in the Thundering Steppes.

For returning the Everlasting Quill, I was told the story of Slezaf's lute and the Maestro's lost symphony. Having been intrigued by their power, I have begun a quest to pursue them. I have found an instrument maker capable of fixing the lute and left it with her. She gave me a Lute of a Thousand Colors to use in the meanwhile, and it gave me my first solid clue in the form of a hidden lyric.

In Chardok: a Gorowyn hierophant in the Library.

Quest

Speak to Ashe Boderra at 29, 1, 29 on the docks in Enchanted Lands to receive a book titled The Tragic Tale of Slezaf.
Speak to Edmund Slezaf at -477, -20, -381 on the docks in The Thundering Steppes and give him 5 Platinum in exchange for Slezaf's Broken Lute.
Examine the Lute.
Speak to Freesia Ticklewing at 161, 108, 171 in Kelethin, to receive The Flute of a Thousand Colors.
Equip the flute and use it from your charm slot to complete the quest and receive the First Magic Lyric, Then inspect the Lyric to receive next step.
