The most convenient place to find the gathering ingredients is around the base of N'Mar's Ascent. Just take the griffin down there and you should be able to find everything you need.

The new version of this quest (since the fungi are no longer in the game) asks for loam as the first step, and 5 fayberries in the second.

When you go to speak to Harold at the docks, he gives you another quest to investigate his wife's death (reward is about 28s). If you complete that quest before returning to Chel Morgan, you get the option to say you think Harold is innocent, and that "Harold said the guards discarded the poisoned bottle. That seems suspicious." The reward from Chel Morgan after this was still a Field Investigator's Evidence kit (10-slot) and 11s however.

I selected guilty after doing the quest for Harold first and there was another option. "Harold said the guards discarded the poisoned bottle. That seems suspicious." Chel responds, "Discarded the bottle, eh? That does seem curious; I'll add that information to my report. Did you find out anything else?" My last and only option was, "No, though I'm sure there's more to this than meets the eye." I got the comparable xp's, coin, 10-slot bag combo.

I selected guilty, and the only option was A Hunch. Same reward. I did not do the quest given by Harold first, so maybe if you do that you are given another option.

I had started but not completed "Defending Harold Winemaster", basically guessing at my coices with Chel.

1. told Chel i thought he was innocent
2. told him that my thoughts were based on a hunch

at this point he lectured me on assuming guilt or innocence and gave me same reward of 10 slot no-tade bag and 11sp 63cp

When u went to talk with Harold at dock, u will also open up another quest from Harold to investigate and find back the bottle.

Before u can finish this, u can report back to investigate and say he is innocent. U got a 10 slot bag for reward (but I finished all 3 quests from Investigator, so I guess the bag is final reward)

I finished the related quest, "Defending Harold Winemaster" before turning this quest in to Chel.

1. I said I thought he was innocent
2. Then I selected that I thought it was suspicious the guards discarded the bottle.

This yielded a 1%ish xp reward (at level 34), 11 silver, 63 copper, and a 10-slot bag.
