A Green Hood called Spearhead has asked me to locate a mate of his called Sunwalker. This will aid in their retrieval of some artifacts they call the sacred stones. I need to help them retrieve these sacred stones in Tenebrous Tangle.
I found the remains of Sunwalker the Green Hood. He must have been captured by the droags and skinned alive.
I reported the death of Sunwalker and the absence of the stones to Spearhead.
I researched the images on the ruined pillars and found the location of the sacred stones.
I managed to acquire six of the ten sacred stones, but there are four more not found in the orbs.
I found the final four sacred stones sitting at the bottom of the pond.
I gave the sacred stones to Spearhead the Green Hood.I helped the Green Hood retrieve artifacts known as the sacred stones. I gave them to the Green Hood named Spearhead in Tenebrous Tangle. Spearhead has instructed me to return to him to receive another mission for Qeynos.

Quest has been updated, after studied the 10 pillars, u will be asked to kill stormcell in the pond at the upper stream of the river, infront of the entrance of "the Temple of Scale" then kill these till u have 6 sacred stone, then u need to find 4 more stone, which in 1 stack, not 4 separated ones(brown color)at loc -95,42,-136 between the 2 big rocks, when looted the stone the Creature from the Black Pond will spawn and it will attack you, kill it as u want.Then take those stones to Spearhead in the Hidden Refuge.which is down the waterfall.
I just completed this quest... but it required me to also kill the Storm Cells and get the four stones from the pond as in the Intercepting Stones quest. Perhaps these two quests have been merged. After getting my reward, an further conversation with Spearhead did not give me a quest. But he did send me off to 'investigate' "similar sacred stone images on a pyramid...". This should open the Mysterious Stone quest for me.

Creature from the Black Pond was worth regular xp only. 58^^ heroic, easily soloed by my 61 zerker.
The pillars are actually the ruins that are infested with gorgs. They are NW of the first Scaleborn treehouse, up the rockface a bit. The pillars don't change the cursor on mouseover, but if you right-click them, you will see the "Study the Pillar" option.

No AA or loot from the creature of the pond for me...

The information given in the description is incomplete. You will need to study images on the ruined pillars after finding Sunwalker. These pillars can be found at 115, 57, -5. You will NOT see a hand when you pass your icon over the pillars, but rather you need to right click them. Also, you will have to right click them up away from the base area. It is picky where click them.

I killed the creature of the pond or whatever and I recieved Achievement Exp and a master chest.

The RIGHT CLICK remaining stones are in the pond area near the where you killed the Storm Cells. This waterfall area is not to be confused with the one you go down to get the Refugee Island. Secondly, the clickable item resmebles three stones clustered together near the center of the pond adjacent to the large boulders within the pond itself.

In regards to previous poster I am Queynos based and Spearhead gave me quest without ever dealing with any of the freeport emmissary. Also to give you a better idea on the quest. When you are directed to retrieve the 10 pillar stones go to /loc +112, +78, -5
by the territorial gorges. All the pillars there will update the quest. They are no going to be a "hand" clicky so when you hover it will give title that its a destroyed pillar - then r-click to get all the updates. Some you will have to change camera angle to look towards the top of the pillar to get the r-click options. Then you are asked to kill 6 storm cells (a abundent amount of these can be found at -23 77 -188 by upper pond above waterfall.)It will then ask you to retrieve the 4 sacred stones. This is a single item clicky that is about center of the lower pond at bottom of waterfall (careful creature of the black pond will spawn on you when you retrieve the bundle. You then turn the items into Spearhead and get your reward.

Just to amend a previous comment about thius being Qeynos based only, Spearhead will not talk to you if you are from Qeynos, so you have to hail a Freeport Emissary at +181, -230, +106 and he gives evil based players the quest. The only difference is the first quest given is Intercepting Stones, it just has the first part of Sunwalker quest as the first step, and then 2nd step is the 10 pillars. Hope this helps clarify.

The Creature from the Black Pond poped on me when I grabbed the stones...you don't have to kill him and he doesn't give any reward...no aa exp or loot

The Pillars to be inspect are all in the Territorial Gorge Area around /loc +112, +78, -5
Im a Gnome and i had some troubles first finding the Updates, even so i had the loc and the description. Problem was, the Marks often are at higher place of the Pillars that stand around there, so got to look up!

Just an observation,but "The Creature from the Black Pond" is not part of this quest unless they took him out in the past 2 days,I did it today and he didnt spawn,yet I was able to complete the quest.I think you were just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Whilst the final four stones spawn the Creature from the Black Pond (L57^^ to me) he doesn't need to be killed to finish the quest. If you solo the quest, approach the stones from the river, grab the stones and back away. With luck, Pondy will spawn out of aggro range.
Invis will help with finding Sunwalker and the pllars, which means the only things you need to kill are the Storm Cells. These are any easy solo kill.

I think this quest is all put into one now. I am on the part where I need to find the 10 stones, but the quest is still called "Sunwalker and Stones"

After finishing this quest go to the pyramid where the stonesetters are. There is a stone tablet on that wall which opens the quest "Mysterious Stones"

The next part of the quest says to inspect some ancient ruined pillars. There are 10 total, all of the pillars near the territorial gorgs (111, 57,7).
Then kill storm cell's floating near the pond for updates (must get 6 updates). Then swim to the bottom of the bond near the boulder and right click a cluster of 4 rocks. Return for reward.

The next step after inspecting the pillars is, kill storm cells for 6 auto updates. Once you have all 6 auto updates, you have to search the pond for four sacred stones.
The stones are located at -12, -134 at the bottom of the pond where the storm cells are. When you grab them, a level 58 ^^ group herioc mob spawns. I easily solo'd this. (I'm a 60 conjuror) The creatures name was, The Creature from the Black Pond. He looked like a slightly larger version of a fog grinnin goblin. (no chest drop)
Take the stones back to Spearhead in Marr's Haven. (the froglok village at the bottom of the waterfall)
I was rewarded with 2% exp and a fairly decent item. Not an upgrade for me though.

This quest is given by Spearhead at the Hidden Refuge ( 187, -237, 185 ) . To reach this area you jump down the waterfall in the pond near the entrance of Tenebrous Tangle.
You are first told to find Sunwalker the Green Hood around the pond near the entrance to the Temple of Scale. You will find his remains impaled on a stake at ( 38.39, 47.25, -145.54 ) . In his mouth you find a note indicating that some pillars had led him to the sacred stones but that he had lost four of them in the pond. The other six were apparently on his body when he was killed and were eaten by nearby storm cells. You must then report back to Spearhead.
He asks you to investigate the ten pillars. They are at:
- 84, 57, -12
- 101, 57, -9
- 119, 57, 0
- 136, 57, -2
- 127, 57, -8
- 128, 57, 3
- 114, 57, 3
- 109, 57, 4
- 100, 57, 4
- 92, 57, -2
After this you must kill storm cells, up above the white water until you recover six of the sacred stones.
Next up is to find four sacred stones at the bottom of the pond ( -12, 0, -134 ) where the storm cells are. Picking these up will spawn The Creature from the Black Pond, a level 57-58 heroic ^^ mob.
You do not need to kill him, simply return to Spearhead for your reward. He tells you that another Green Hood found images similar to those on the pillars on a pyramid somewhere on the island. To initiate the next quest, Mysterious Stones, you must find this pyramid near the Sanctum Landing Cloud Station ( 255.75, 11.32, -87.34 ) .
