This is actually the second in the Geynos Guard series. You can recieve it after "Reclaiming the Bog"

Lieutenant Dawson asks you to find some kind of machine in the water. The machine is located at 674.83, -35.94, 498.84 near the center of the lake.

Inspect the machine and attach the arcanic beacon. A gnoll machinist will spawn and attack you (level 8, soloable). He will attack whether or not you're invisible, so clearing the pond of agro might be wise.

After killing the machinist, quickly attach the beacon for you update. Hail Lieutenant Dawson again to finish the quest and claim your reward. This opens up a quest called "Ambushed".

Lieutenant Dawson has heard reports of some kind of machine in the water in the Peat Bog. She has asked that I attempt to find it. If I do find it she has asked that I place an arcanic beacon on it, which will ensure that the observation teams will find and fully investigate it.

Stage 1

Lieutenant Dawson has asked that I find a machine that is supposedly in the water in the Peat Bog.

Start:	I need to find the machine in the water in the Peat Bog and attach the arcanic beacon.
Complete:	I have attached the arcanic beacon.

Start:	I need to return to Lieutenant Dawson.
Complete:	I have spoken with Lieutenant Dawson.

I found the machine that Lieutenant Dawson was told about.

I have found the machine that Lieutenant Dawson heard about. While I was hooking the beacon up I was attacked by a gnoll. After killing the gnoll I was able to attach the beacon.
