After becoming friends with several of the othmir, they have invited me to trap birds with them. I've been told the birds' feathers are highly valued for their use in othmir shaman rituals.

Stage 1

I should purchase the nets from the merchant, Chitter, near Lodizal and the dock, and meet Rui at the southern half of Fina's Retreat.

I have met Rui at the southern half of Fina's Retreat near the birds' migration route.

Stage 2

I should capture the birds flying overhead on their migration route on the snowy hills on either side of Rui on the south half of Fina's Retreat.

Complete:	I trapped birds

Start:	Trap birds flying overhead on the south hill
Complete:	I trapped birds

I have captured the birds flying overhead on their migration route near Rui.

Stage 3

I should speak to Rui in Fina's Retreat.

Start:	Return to Rui
Complete:	I have returned to Rui

I have spoken to Rui in Fina's Retreat.

Birds are a very rare sight in Velious, but with my help, the othmir managed to intercept a few on their migration.

for some reason. they stopped giving the footwear. they only gave me augs. what a shame. i really want the armor.

You must first complete Steps to Acceptance before Rui will offer this quest.

Speak to Rui at -1573,-536,-2412 within Fina's Retreat in the Great Divide.

Purchase Rui's bird nets for 10c from Chitter at -1597,-533,-2419
Head south out of Fina's Retreat to the fishing village and walk up to Rui at -1319,-536,-2185 . He should tell you that the birds are flying overhead and update your quest.
Climb to the top of the hill at -1377,-515,-2178 and you will see a migrating seagull flying right overhead.
Target a seagull and catch it by using the fishing net you purchased. Do this to 3 seagulls.
Return to Rui in the fishing village to complete the quest.

NOTE: The shoulders that match this armor set are the Gnollish Bonemail Spaulders, which are a reward from So Very Hungry given by a gnoll named Snaps in the Great Divide at Snowfang Isle, at -904, -520, -2134 .
