Total Eclipse of the Heart

This quest can no longer be started in game.

This quest was for Erollisi Day 2011 only. In 2012 it was removed.

Speak to Priest Aaronolis Swornlove at 23,148,-53 next to the Cairn of the Huntress in New Halas (Frostfang Sea) to begin this quest.

Priest Aaronolis Swornlove, in the city of New Halas, has been curious and confused about Erollisi's death. If Roehn Theer, the Godslayer, was trapped within the Void during the events of Erollisi's sacrifice, how is it that she is dead? Is she dead? Are there other ways that deities can be slain? He has sent me to learn what I can.

  1. Speak to Priestess of the Silver Reaper at -467,15,78 in the Somborn Cemetery in Loping Plains.
  2. Speak to Miracle Magnus at -610,175,991 within Gnomeland Security Headquarters in Steamfont Mountains.
  3. Gather components for the miracle:
    • wild hemlock - Found in the Nerian Highlands of Darklight Wood. These look like dried out shrubs. There's many of these but here's some locs:

Lore

These are the in-game quest dialogues.

A Priest's Thoughts

You say, "Hail, Priest Aaronolis Swornlove"

Priest Aaronolis Swornlove says to you, "Hello again, Feawen. I am glad that so many have set their minds and their hearts to celebrating these days of love and affection."

You say to Priest Aaronolis Swornlove, "That's why I'm here."

Priest Aaronolis Swornlove says to you, "Though, I admit to feeling a bit distracted. Something my sister said a few days ago has had me thinking."

You say to Priest Aaronolis Swornlove, "What is that?"

Priest Aaronolis Swornlove says to you, "If Roehn Theer, the Godslayer, was trapped within the Void during the events of Erollisi's sacrifice, how is it that she is dead? I know that there are vague tales indicating that a demigod can be absorbed by a dominant god, but Erollisi was not a demigoddess."

You say to Priest Aaronolis Swornlove, "I don't know."

Priest Aaronolis Swornlove says to you, "Maybe there are other ways to slay a deity that we are not aware of. My knowledge of death is slim, Feawen. Would you do a curious priest a favor and learn what you can of this topic for me? A Priest of the Silver Reaper within the city of Somborn would be a good place to start."

You say to Priest Aaronolis Swornlove, "Gladly!"

You say, "Hail, Priest Aaronolis Swornlove"

Priest Aaronolis Swornlove says, "Learn what you can of death and then return to me, my friend."

The Silver Reaper

You say, "Hail, Priestess of the Silver Reaper"

Priestess of the Silver Reaper says to you, "You've come seeking knowledge of the Silver Reaper, traveler?"

You say to Priestess of the Silver Reaper, "I've come seeking knowledge, yes."

Priestess of the Silver Reaper says to you, "Knowledge can bring peace, but it can also bring suffering. Where do your curiosities lie?"

You say to Priestess of the Silver Reaper, "Who is the Silver Reaper?"

Priestess of the Silver Reaper says to you, "Drinal - the god of night, it is his namesake that remains whole within the night sky. Just as he ferries the dead to the Ethernere, the moon ferries us to another day."

You say to Priestess of the Silver Reaper, "Would Drinal take a slain god or goddess there?"

Priestess of the Silver Reaper says to you, "No. No god is taken into the Ethernere within the cloak of Drinal. That path is only for mortals who have met their end. But if a god were to have experienced a loss of deification and then died as a mortal... it stands to reason."

You say to Priestess of the Silver Reaper, "Has that happened?"

Priestess of the Silver Reaper says to you, "I am unaware. Drinal's Steward would be the only one who might be able to tell you."

You say to Priestess of the Silver Reaper, "Who is that? Are they a demigod?"

Priestess of the Silver Reaper says to you, "He was to be bestowed such a crown from another, but fate intervened and brought him into Drinal's waiting cloak. It is Drinal who he eternally serves, but no, he is no deity."

You say to Priestess of the Silver Reaper, "How am I to ask him?"

Priestess of the Silver Reaper says to you, "Long ago, Drinal, the Silver Reaper, was the only one who ferried the dead to the Ethernere. Now, it is his steward who often takes the departed within her cloak. Only the dead may converse with him."

You say to Priestess of the Silver Reaper, "You think I should be slain?"

Priestess of the Silver Reaper says to you, "If you wish to converse with his steward, yes, but it need not be eternal slumber. There is someone who can provide what you require. Speak with Miracle Magnus in Gnomeland Security, Cyliena."

You say to Priestess of the Silver Reaper, "I will do exactly that."

Needing a Miracle

You say, "Hail, Miracle Magnus"

Miracle Magnus says to you, "We're closed. Beat it!"

You say to Miracle Magnus, "I need a miracle. It's very important."

Miracle Magnus says to you, "Aren't they all? Tell me, what's so important? Lover died before you could tell them how you truly feel? Father kicked the bucket and you want to tell him off one more time?"

You say to Miracle Magnus, "It is not the deceased who I wish to converse with."

Miracle Magnus says to you, "No? Well, at any matter miracles are expensive."

You say to Miracle Magnus, "I wish to speak with Drinal's Steward about Erollisi Marr."

Miracle Magnus says to you, "Whoa! Why didn't you say so?! That is a very noble cause! I'll need some components to make the miracle you need, Cyliena. Gather wild hemlock and paralysis eyestalks from burrowing sand gazers."

You say to Miracle Magnus, "Where can I find wild hemlock?"

Miracle Magnus says to you, "The Nerian Highlands of Darklight Wood, my friend."

You say to Miracle Magnus, "Thank you."

You say, "Hail, Miracle Magnus"

Miracle Magnus says to you, "I'll need some components to make the miracle you need, Cyliena. Gather wild hemlock and paralysis eyestalks from burrowing sand gazers."

You say to Miracle Magnus, "Where do the burrowing sand gazers roam?"

Miracle Magnus says to you, "They have been spotted recently attempting to hide by burrowing into the soil near Freeport within the Commonlands."

You say to Miracle Magnus, "Thank you."

You say, "Hail, Miracle Magnus"

Miracle Magnus says to you, "You're back, Cyliena! Now to make the ingested pellet for you."

You say to Miracle Magnus, "Will it take long?"

Miracle Magnus says to you, "Not one bit. I prepared most of the other components while you were away."

You say to Miracle Magnus, "That's good."

You receive Miracle Pellet.

Miracle Magnus says to you, "Swallow this pellet when you are prepared to speak with Drinal's Steward."

You say to Miracle Magnus, "Thank you."

Magnus's Miracle Pellet does not look so miraculous. He said that it must be swallowed while I am in Steamfont Mountains.

Drinal's Steward

You have entered A Spiritual Pocket.

You say, "Hail, Drinal's Steward"

Drinal's Steward says to you, "I know why you have come. Why you have been sent to me."

You say to Drinal's Steward, "You do?"

Drinal's Steward says to you, "She, beautiful and loyal. She, as skilled on the battlefield as in the temple. But she is no longer as she was."

You say to Drinal's Steward, "No. She is dead."

Drinal's Steward says to you, "You speak falsely. She is no longer whole, but dead she is not."

You say to Drinal's Steward, "Erollisi Mar is not dead?!"

Drinal's Steward says to you, "Who was speaking about the Goddess of Love? We speak of Selena."

You say to Drinal's Steward, "I thought..."

Drinal's Steward says to you, "I must go now. Time waits for no mortal."

You say to Drinal's Steward, "Wait! About Erollisi..."

Drinal's Steward says to you, "I had devoted my life to her within the temple, but that was before the treachery. Now I serve the Silver Reaper. I must not keep him waiting any longer. Enjoy your life, while you can. Drink fully of its goblet, living one."

You say to Drinal's Steward, "I will remember that."

Conclusion

You say, "Hail, Priest Aaronolis Swornlove"

Priest Aaronolis Swornlove says to you, "You've returned, Cyliena! Were you able to learn anything of interest?"

You say to Priest Aaronolis Swornlove, "I'm not sure. I was told only mortals are taken into the Ethernere when they die."

Priest Aaronolis Swornlove says to you, "You learned this from a Priest of the Silver Reaper?"

You say to Priest Aaronolis Swornlove, "Yes, and then I spoke with Drinal's Steward. Though, he only had Selena on his mind, not Erollisi Marr."

Priest Aaronolis Swornlove says to you, "Selena? Interesting."

You say to Priest Aaronolis Swornlove, "And considering the steward is the one that ferries most departed mortals, it is unlikely Erollisi was made mortal before death."

You gain Alternate Advancement experience!

Priest Aaronolis Swornlove says to you, "Then she was not slain by the Godslayer and she was not ferried to the Ethernere, either. I am not surprised by this considering her essence had been trapped in her casket in the Shard of Love. But maybe, just maybe, we can allow ourselves a glimmer of hope that she may return to us, one day?"

You receive Lovers' Gazebo.
You receive Erollisi coin.
You receive Lovers' Gazebo Assembly Kit.

You say to Priest Aaronolis Swornlove, "I've always held a glimmer of hope!"
