How do u get to Permafrost entrance?, i am stuck at the place with the world tree root? access needed to enter to PF zone? Look at map, the passage at the place where u pick up white shard, there s a tomb stone there, but nothing clickable... help need

Mareva D'Iniv, an archaeologist, offered me a chance to earn some prestige in the Overlord's eyes by investigating the reappearance of the roekillik, an ancient race of ratmen. They are apparently infesting some of the mines around Norrath and Mareva was not specific. This might take me a little bit of time but I know I can find them -- and get them to talk.
I've learned more about the roekillik's purposes.
I've learned still more about the roekillik's return.
Mareva will confer with her colleagues.The roekillik were hired by the drakota to locate some "rare substances." They can't possibly be more vague. Mareva D'Iniv is conferring with some colleagues about this, but once she's got everything in place, I'm sure there will be more for me to do in this investigation. I'll need to check back with her, if for no other reason than to make sure the Overlord doesn't think she got her information all on her own.
Stage 1
I need to find out about the roekillik.| Start: | Mareva suggested I find out what the roekillik are surveying in the mines around Norrath. I might start in the Commonlands. |

28 necro been in and out of BSV 3 times now, including running all around inside, and still no update. Any ideas on what to do?

Did this Quest 4/28/2007 got the update infront of the zone in to Permafrost with no problem ..

Well I just did this today, and the location for the Permafrost area seems to be directly between the 2 giants guarding the door and slightly in front of the door.

67 mystic was able to get the ding for PF outside of the gates. No zoning was required. I did have to run around a bit to get the right spot though.

48 Bezerker - got update zoning into Perma but had to zone in and out and in again to get it... Did not update when i first zoned into PF. Wierd.

First...the assasins seem to be tied to you lvl when you get quest. I deleted and restarted the quest and their lvl range changed.
On that note...don't want the assasins hurting you...delete the quest...or complete it. (You can always pick it up again)

I got nothing for this quest but irritating rats following me around. I have not began the revelaltion quest, I am hoping that it gives you something for such a troublesome quest.

LVL 36 Paladin - Just went to the gate of "A mysterious mine" in Zek. I did not even zone. The coordinates given in the description above are accurate.

Just a quick note on the Zek Mine...there are actually 2 mines in this area. After going into the one mine twice I never got the update...on the 3rd instance I went back in and out and the mine dissapeared...then the Mysterious mine showed up on the hill a little ways away, I only had to approach it then and got the update...37 Mystic btw.

Do you have to go somewhere other than permafrost if you're over 60? I'm 69 and can't seem to get the update there.

The quest is evil. The assassins spawn randomly and will not scale down if you are mentoring. That has gotten me and my poor mid-teens party massacred by a 44 assassin. Does anyone know how far you have to get to stop the assassins spawning?

After getting this quest, at various times assassins will spawn and attack. At lvl 30 they are more nuisance than threat because they are far below my level. Easy to kill. Just can't wait to get to the commonlands to speak to the two NPCs so they'll stop being so pesky!

As a 29/Assassin I received the update for the last part by going to the gates of BSV. The quest did not update in Zek. I'm assuming that Zek is not for 45 and below, but rather likely 30-45. Regardless, I'd recommend checking BSV first before running all the way to Zek if you are 30 or lower.

If you're trying to find Surveyor Menak or Engineer Klaaska they're the two little guys for the Wheel of Vaniki- which are both on the West side of the Commonlands just north of Dog Trapper Lake.

It's showing as a level 23 quest, and I've been hit by assassins ever since I picked it up.

I just got credit at the Mysterious Mine in Zek, and I'm level 46. It appears that which mine you will get credit at may be at least partially random.

You must log in or create an account to post messages.This quest is given by Mareva D'Iniv in the library of North Freeport or Pearl Honeywine in Qeynos Harbor (near Down Below entrance). It is part of an ongoing world event.
You must find out more about the Roekillik who have been sprouting up in the mines throughout the world. Start by speaking with Surveyor Menak in the Commonlands ( 43.42, -24.04, -883.34 ) . He'll send you to speak to Engineer Klaaska at ( -19.67, -39.76, -889.83 ) in the Commonlands. The quest given by Engineer Klaaska is a 20 level quest that is not part of the Disturbance quest chain.
After this you can return to Mareva or Pearl to receive the next part of the quest. It should be noted that at this point Roekilliks can spawn anywhere and attack you.
The next step involves either traveling to Bloodskull Valley if you are under 30, the Mysterious Mine in Zek ( -169.81, -17.49, -196.11 ) if you are level 30-45 or lower, or the entrance to Permafrost in Everfrost if you are level 46+. If you have problems getting the update you should zone in and then back out again to get it.
After doing this return to Mareva or Pearl to close the Disturbance quest and open the Revelation quest.
