Tumao Ventur is not only patriarch of the Ventur clan, but also its armorer. He said that his grandson Gai Ge is destined to be the next armorer, but is resisting the call of the forge for the lure of becoming a monk. I've offered to help convince Gai Ge that being an armorer is every bit as honorable as being a monk.
Stage 1
I'll need to speak with Gai Ge Ventur, Tumao Ventur's grandson, and convince him to learn armor crafting.
Start: | Gai Ge Ventur will likely be close to the House of Ventur. |
---|
Complete: | I've spoken to Gai Ge. |
---|
I've convinced Gai Ge Ventur to give armorsmithing a chance.Stage 2
I will need to gather some basic components together so that I can show Gai Ge Ventur what fun it is to be an armorer. I'm sure to find all that I need nearby.
Start: | I'll gather some iron ore to teach Gai Ge the smelting process. |
---|
Complete: | I've gathered some iron ore. |
---|
Start: | With some copper ore, I can show Gai Ge how easy it is to refine a metal from any surrounding stone. |
---|
Complete: | I've located some copper ore. |
---|
Start: | Though not as common as iron or copper, plumbum is a good example of a material that can combine easily with something like copper to create a different material. |
---|
Complete: | I've located some plumbum. |
---|
Start: | Now I'll take my stash of teaching materials back to Gai Ge and show him how much fun it is to be an armorer. |
---|
Complete: | I've spoken with Gai Ge. |
---|
I've gathered together several components.Stage 3
Gai Ge Ventur knows his destiny, but is rather convincing in his desire to become a monk rather than simply go along with what his family believes he should become.
Start: | Tumao Ventur will not be pleased with the results of my "teaching" Gai Ge about crafting armor, but I believe that he will understand. |
---|
Complete: | I've spoken with Tumao Ventur. |
---|
I've explained things to Tumao Ventur. After speaking with Gai Ge Ventur, I realized something I should have already known -- that even if others say you have one destiny, you can still choose to travel a different path. Though I'm not sure that Tumao Ventur was pleased with my advice, I felt that it would be dishonorable to force Gai Ge to do train in a skill that does not interest him.
