This quest is given by Deputy Hopple in The Enchanted Lands, after you complete the Plan the Fundraiser quest.
He asks you to craft (or buy) 3 Wild Apple Muffins. These must be called "Wild Apple Muffins" and not delectable or other variants of the apple muffins.
The reward is a recipe for Hopple's Apple Pie.

One of the contests that Deputy Hopple is using as a fundraiser for the planned museum means I'll have to get three wild apple muffins. If I'm not up to the task I can always buy my way out of this one, but I'm betting the prize will be something useful only to a skilled provisioner. Either way, I'm guessing that the muffin on display will be sold to raise funds, while Deputy Hopple plans to gobble up the two he requested "for tasting." It's for a good cause, anyway.
After all that, no one else had entered the contest.As it turns out, I was the only entrant in the apple muffin event, which means I automatically won first prize. I'm sure to put Deputy Hopple's apple pie recipe to good use, but now I wonder whether Hopple's planning to eat all the apple muffins I made by himself!

Anyone know if there's a bug with this quest? I'm a level 47 provisioner, so I crafted the wild apple muffins, no problem, and the quest updated,telling me to turn them in, but when I got back to Hopple, it basically indicated that I wasn't finished crafting the muffins. Now, because I crafted twice and actually made four (two muffins per combine), three went for the quest and only one shows in my inventory. That's the way it's supposed to work, isn't it?

There's a note on the Test server patch for GU 44 (next update) that soon Hoople will be less greedy about the muffins.

I zoned to broker and bought Wild Apple Muffins from broker (approx 11S) one at a time. As I bought them it recorded the quest as completed.

my alt crafted the muffins I couldnt get the deputy to accept them I then sold the 3 1 by 1 to the general goods vendor and bought them back again...hey presto it worked!!! Verm the ratonga

This quest now calls for (3) "Wild Apple Muffins" following the LU24 update and the removal of the Candied Apple Recipe

I had my alt provisioner make three candied apples (not delectable) and took them to Deputy Hopples, I even put them singly in the item bags. No go. So I think I have to buy one at a time from a broker. Trying that next.
Really frustrating to go buy them when you have a Provisoner alt that can make them.

I was able to pass along the Hopple's Apple Pie recipe to my alt who is a provisioner. It requires lvl 37. At first I was miffed because at lvl 37 the regular provisioner's recipe book includes an apple pie recipe. Exactly the same ingredients. But the regular recipe turns out a 4 hour pie, Hopple's Pie (delectable) lasts over 6 hours. Hopple's Apple Pie lasts over 5 hours.

I crafted the apples (not delectable) on my provisioner alt and put them in my shared back (placed them 1 in each slot); I did not get an update doing it this way. But I was able to purchase them directly from the broker.

if you buy from player, make sure you trade 1 at a time...a stack of three only dings as one

I also got 3 delectable candied apples with no update. However, I bought one "regular" candied apple from broker and got update there. Possible that they have to be 'candied apples' and not 'delectable candied apples'.

Bring the 3 Apples to Hoppel, he will give you 13s 74c and a recipe for Hopple´s Apple Pie

Seems to me it's bugged. One of the 4 quests asks for a Feyiron dagger. I bought a Forged Feyiron dagger and it immediately dinged a quest update before hand in. Another quest of the 4 asks for a broadcloth cap (made or obtain). The Tradeskill cap is named: broadcloth cap (not : a broadcloth cap)so I couldn't get a similar quest update on it. Tried pristine tailored broadcloth cap as well with no luck. I didn't get a chance to /bug this . . might give that a shot.

I haven't done this quest yet, but a couple of reason he may not be accepting your apples...
1. If you bought them in a stack, the individual items may not 'register'.
2. Considering workshop/wholesaler tasks and writs need a specific quality to be turned in, delectable may not work for the completion of this quest either. You may need the specific 'candied apples' which is the second best quality, without an adjective.
Again, no idea if that is what is wrong, but those are my ideas. Good luck.

I can't seem to get this quest to register. I purchased 3 "delectable candied apples" for the quest, but he wouldn't let me submit them. =/
