I have acquired a magical quill made from a majestic avian of some sort. I found it in a hidden vault in the Palace of the Awakened's foyer. I wonder what secrets this magic quill will reveal and where it can be used.

Stage 1

Now that I have this unusual quill I should find a use for it. Perhaps it can be used to fill in some blank pages.

Start:	Find a page to use the quill upon.
Complete:	The quill wrote in the pages of the Salutations Tome.

The magic quill has begun to write within the Salutations Tome all on its own!

Stage 2

The story of the aviak civil war seems to be a clue on how to discover a hidden stash. I believe I may need to find stolen scythes.

Start:	Hunt for the stolen scythes near the foyer.
Complete:	I have discovered a stolen scythe.

I have collected stolen scythes from Blacktalon palace guards near the foyer.

Stage 3

Now that I have acquired enough of the stolen scythes I need to follow the story of the civil war and pay homage to the dueling aviaks.

Start:	Lay down an offering of stolen scythes before one of the two.
Complete:	I placed the stolen scythes before the Spiroc statue.

Start:	Lay down an offering of stolen scythes before one of the two.
Complete:	I placed the stolen scythes before the Spiroc statue.

I placed offerings of the stolen scythes before the two statues of dueling aviaks in the foyer.

Stage 4

According to the aviak civil war story, there should be four heroes appearing in circles that will duel me for their arms. I must be quick about this!

Start:	Duel and defeat the first hero of the Spiroc.
Complete:	I have earned the spear of the Hero of the North Wind.

Start:	Duel and defeat the second hero of the Spiroc.
Complete:	I have earned the spear of the Hero of the East Wind.

Start:	Duel and defeat the third hero of the Spiroc.
Complete:	I have earned the spear of the Hero of the South Wind.

Start:	Duel and defeat the fourth hero of the Spiroc.
Complete:	I have earned the spear of the Hero of the West Wind.

I have defeated the four heroes of the Spiroc in an honorable duel. I have earned their spears.

Stage 5

Now that I have the ceremonial spears of the Spiroc heroes, I need to find a use for them.

Start:	Place the Spear of the North Wind in an appropriate location.
Complete:	I placed the Spear of the North onto a ceremonial rack.

Start:	Place the Spear of the South Wind in an appropriate location.
Complete:	I placed the Spear of the South onto a ceremonial rack.

Start:	Place the Spear of the East Wind in an appropriate location.
Complete:	I placed the Spear of the East onto a ceremonial rack.

Start:	Place the Spear of the West Wind in an appropriate location.
Complete:	I placed the Spear of the West onto a ceremonial rack.

I placed the four spears of the heroes upon the nearby spear racks.

Stage 6

After placing the Spears of the Heroes I have triggered a chest to appear in the Spiroc Foyer. I need to look into this magic chest.

Start:	Investigate the chest.
Complete:	I found the treasure trove of the heroes.

I discovered the treasure of the Heroes of the Four Winds in the magic chest.

After following the story of the aviak civil war and demise of the spiroc, I found a secret magic chest. This chest once belonged to the heroes of the four wings of the Flock. Inside the chest were treasures dating back to when this palace belonged to the spiroc aviaks. I also found a set of keys shaped like parrot talons. I should take another look at the Salutations Tome for more leads.

Inspect the quill you received in the Scaled Salutations. It will ask you to find a page to use it on. Return to the tome at the zone in and read through the dialogue.

The tome asks you to retrieve 5 stolen scythes, these are from the palace guards in the foyer but they are not an auto update. Slay them until everyone in group has all 5. We also found that not everyone gets the same updates. After you have all 5 you will be prompted to place the scythes, before doing this clear the foyer and the room after to the left after the foyer.

In the first room are two statues you have to mouse over them till you get a message that is different then just the statues name. you will place both sets of scythes. This initiates a 5 Minute timer. You need to slay the champions and take their weapons. These champions spawn down the foyer.

Once all are slain you will need to place the spears in the racks, this is the room to the left of the foyer and hanging on the wall are the 4 racks.

After you have placed all the spears you will be asked to retrieve you reward from the chest, the chest is in the foyer to the right of the zone in behind the statue.

just did this today. soloed as 70 necro very easily.

the palace guards gave me scythe updates every time (the watchers that wander in same area dont update).

the timer for the ghosts is 10mins

first 3 ghosts are solo, last ghost was a heroic

This is the 15th quest in the Qeynos Claymore series of quests. It is available after completing Scaled Salutations, and starts by examining The Quill of the Flock.

First you must find the hidden vault, which is on the wall in the arch past the statue on the left as you zone into the palace. Right clicking the appropriate area gives you the option to inspect.

After this you must kill aviaks in the foyer (mostly level 66^, can come in pairs) for auto-updating scythes. Once you have all ten, you have to inspect the base of both statues in the foyer to place the scythes. Move around the statues a bit and keep clicking until you find it, the spot to place the scythes is a bit difficult to locate. After placing the scythes at both statues, a timer starts. You have six minutes to kill a series of named ghosts that spawn in the hallway leading away from the foyer. Killing one spawns the next. The first three are level 66^, and the last one, which spawns in the Vestibule of the Four Winds, is level 66^^.

After killing all four ghosts, inspect the weapon racks in the Vestibule of the Four Winds for updates. After this is completed, return to the apparition chest on the right-hand side of the foyer for your reward.

This quest unlocks the next in this series, The Visage of Aeristok.
