You have to kill him and his lackey's to get the head (quest item). I thought about evacauating after killing Grinash, but decided to stick it out and kill 'em all. Then realized it was only after killing the last one that I got the update. Did it solo with 39 ranger.

I just found Grinash. The loc's here didn't help at all but ran between the 2 Gnoll guard towners by the TS back door and he came running for me. Thanks a bunch Keona.

Tried the 2 previously mentioned /locs for Grinash without success. Checked my EQ2maps loc for him of 1374 x -325 and had instant success.

I did this quest today. I used Xandorra's loc of 1230, -1, -358 and it was right on. I did have to run between the 2 small towers for him to spawn. Not sure where the other locs are coming from, maybe he spawns in different places?

Correct location of Grinash the Vicious is: 549.57, -0.52, -485.87 If you go to TS from Antonica the alternate way behind the water fall it's right there, just head straight through the towers.
You have to go through the towers then he will spawn with four other gnolls. They will start running towards the griffon fields but you can catch up to them and get aggro.

I actually had to enter the stall where Chieftain Kraughl spawns before he appeared. He was not trackable until he spawned.

The location was off for Grinash. Try 1230, -1, -358
Wait there, he will spawn with is mob and head out to you. He wasn't bad he was a 1 down arrow and green.

If you spawn Grinash, he runs out towards the griffon fields, and when he gets to a named centaur there, the centaur dies, and Grinesh dissappears. If you kill the remaining hench-gnolls, you get credit anyway :)

maybe it works, if you go in the right tent to let him spawn and not to the location mentioned. the only problem was, that i had to be visible for him to speak with me to end the quest. and because some of the prophets were still aggro to me (lvl40) i made it the following way:
i targeted kraughl invisible, left the tent to the back of it and there on a save place i went visible greeted him and got the update.

Grinash the Viscious was 31 with one down arrow. I see another's comment below that he was ^^ or ^^^. Apparently they made this easier.

One note... You can talk to Chieftain while invis (for those of you aggro to centaurs).

Cheiftan Kraughl spawns at location 88.78,0.70,1384.67. Located in South Bandit camp. Tent on Right , When head South to camp. Enter back left stall, walk around and leave stall. Will not pop if you are standing in his spot!

Linquay is right, you have to get into that far left cubical for him to spawn, if fact i had to make sure and get all the way in there.

Won't spawn on return trip with Grinash's head on Oasis server either.

It is the tent to your right that get Chieftain Kraughl to spawn. Go into the far left cubicle and he will spawn automatically.

It seems that since something like one week the captain don't sapwn anymore.
I'm stuck at the end of the Captain REquest because i can't spawn it to finish the quest.
And nobody on the server is able to spawn him.
Is there similar behavior on other servers?

OK, i have the head and i retured to the cheiftain to see that he was not there, what is the trick to get him spawned?

If you go in the last cubicle on the left, he spawns, and is non aggro, like Obsid.
Did you follow the two centaurs on the escape right to the exit and did they then tell you to see the chieftain? maybe that bit failed?

I can not get the chief to spawn after i have done the prison break quest, asked guild where he spawned and i went into the south bandit camp left tent and he didnt pop... i tried killin in the tent and nothing popped still Lol please help me.

Kraughl is in south camp in staul in tent he will not pop till u walk in last staul on left

he will spawn if you are invis, just have to go into the stall far enough

The easiest way to get in to talk to the chieftan is to have a party member, preferably your tank and preferrably on a horse :), run in and pull all the cents in front of the tent and run them over and down the river bed, then dash in and talk to the chieftan.

Actually Grinash can spawn as lvl 30-32 version

I found Chieftain Kraughl and asked him about the shipwrecked treasure. He was quite hostile and referred to me as "Outlander". He would not tell me about the treasure because I still did not have his trust. He has tasked me with finding and killing Grinash to prove my loyalty to his people.
I saved a female centaur from Grinash the Vicious and received his head.
I presented the head of Grinash to Chieftain Kraughl.I found Grinash and his raiders just in time! They were about to attack and kill a female centaur who was alone on the plains. I was able to stop and defend her against the gnolls, claiming the head of Grinash. I gave the head to Kraughl who was surprised that I was able to do what he asked. It seems the means to open the way to the shipwrecked treasure has been lost. Kraughl directed me to Wiseman Oluran to tell me more of the Stormsunder.

This is the second of a three part series that grants access to the Cove of Decay. It is given by speaking to Chieftain Kraughl in the Thundering Steppes at 89.29, 0.71, 1385.55 after completing The Cove of Decay - Prison Break quest (see related quests).
You will then need to kill Grinash the Vicious ( 550, -0.52, -486 or 1374, 0, -325 ). Kill him and return to Chieftain Kraughl to complete this quest and open up the Reforming Stormsunder quest (see related quests).
