This is one of the first quests that you will be given upon reaching the Isle of Refuge.

He will send you to speak to the trainer near sparring partners, where you are given basic information for combat. He will then ask you to defeat a sparring partner in combat. There are three different sparring partners; one is weak and is a down arrow, which indicates that he is weaker than a normal monster of his level. The other is average, and the other has an up arrow, indicating that he is challenging for solo players of the same level.

After defeating the sparring partner return to the trainer, then go on to hand the quest in.

Tayil N'Velex says I need to acquaint myself with combat. I am to speak with Trainer Darg Frostwind in the northwestern area of the outpost. He will be able to teach me about combat.

Stage 1

I need to speak with Darg Frostwind. He will train me in the ways of combat.

Start:	I need to speak with Darg Frostwind at Combat Clearing, northwest of Tayil N'Velex.
Complete:	I have spoken with Darg Frostwind.

Start:	I need to defeat a sparring partner in combat. There are several sparring partners just north of Trainer Darg Frostwind.
Complete:	I have defeated a sparring partner in combat.

Start:	I need to speak with Trainer Darg Frostwind again.
Complete:	I have spoken with Darg Frostwind.

I have defeated a sparring partner in combat.

Stage 2

Now that I have completed my combat training I should speak with Tayil N'Velex.

Start:	I need to return to Tayil N'Velex.
Complete:	I have spoken with Tayil N'Velex.

I have spoken with Tayil N'Velex.

After speaking with Darg Frostwind I defeated a sparring partner in combat. Now that I have performed my initial training Tayil N'Velex will have more opportunities for me to help out in The Outpost of the Overlord.
