Stone Cold Eyes

I also completed this quest last night, and received the 15g reward and a stack of 20 Swift Slicer. Which appear to be throwing weapon ammo, and are equippable in ammo slot even by me and I'm an Inquisitor, so they do me no good. Anyone else know if there is another purpose to these?

I didn't get any coin for this quest but I did recieve 7% exp at lvl 58 and some items to throw (no stats). Not sure if the thowing items are for anything else but as a Necromancer they don't do anything for me.

This quest is repeatable.

There is a chest made of stone located in one of the large chambers on the first floor of the Sanctum of the Scaleborn. The chest had sockets and the image of an eerie eye.

Stage 1

The sockets on the stone chest need something placed in them to possibly open the chest. The only clue I have is the image of an eye.

Start:	Find the objects to place in the sockets of the stone chest.
Complete:	I found a crystal eye.

I have acquired crystal eyes from the golems.

Stage 2

I need to return to the stone chest and try and fit these crystal eyes into the sockets.

Start:	Place the crystal eyes into the stone chest sockets.
Complete:	The crystal eyes fit and the chest opened.

I placed the crystal eyes into the sockets of the stone chest. The chest opened!

After placing special crystal eyes taken from the watchful aegis' into the stony chest, I acquired the treasure inside.

This quest is initiated by examining a stone chest at 13.07,135.51,-13.58 in one of the chambers on the first floor of the Sanctum of the Scaleborn. Kill a watchful custodian for a chance of getting one of the six items needed.
