After the large piece of encrusted soot fell away from the dagger's blade you notice an inscription. You can only make out a few words through the rust and soot that remains. "He who wields this dagger..." is all you can read.
Stage 1
You repeat the words to yourself. What could this mean? The dagger seems like it can be cleaned and repaired. You feel you can repair the dagger yourself. You set out to collect a few items.
Start: | To clean the dagger's blade I will need to gather some pumice stone. |
---|
Complete: | I have found the pumice stone. |
---|
You have collected enough pumice to scrape most of the debris from the dagger.Stage 2
To continue repairing this dagger I will need to find gem stones to fill the sockets in its hilt.
Start: | I must find suitable gem stones to fill the sockets of this dagger. The six sockets are of an odd size and shape. |
---|
Complete: | I have found six gems of the right size and shape for this dagger. |
---|
Now that I have found some gems of the right size I can try to fit them into the hilt of this dagger.Stage 3
The dagger is sharp enough, possibly too sharp. It still needs leather wrapping for its hilt. Perhaps the goblin gatherers will help find some leather.
Start: | I need leather strips for this dagger's hilt. I have noticed several goblin gatherers in the area. Perhaps they will be nice and give me some of what I search for. |
---|
Complete: | Unfortunately the goblins wouldn't give you the leather without a fight. At least you were able to pry them from their not so cold dead hands. |
---|
You have found enough leather to cover the handle of the dagger nicely. I find myself holding a fine dagger. After cleaning it, repairing the hilt and sharpening the blade I feel this dagger can be put to some great use! The thought of having a curse on the dagger in my mind makes it more valuable... Bah, McBlain's wrath!
