Command of the Death's Whisper language is required to start or complete this quest.
This quest is initiated by reading Seeker Abdeef's Notes. These notes are rewarded to you after you complete the Delving into Darkness quest.
You must speak to Phar'Ahkt in The Living Tombs. He spawns when the Phar, Ahk, Hek, Kan and Tal Runes are placed in the Phar'Un Monolith ( -636, -17, 120 ) , but only speaks the language of the dead (Death's Whisper). He allows you to ask him many questions but only one of the branches will advance the quest, keep going until you get the update.
After this speak to The Steward of Fyr'Un and ask him "What is the Ewer of Sul'Dae" to continue the quest line with the Auxiliary Service quest.

I have read Seeker Abdeef's notes on the ancient city of Ahket Aken. According to his notes the city contained magical tablets scribed with the words of the ruling Godking. An ancient passage called these tablets the Tributary Monoliths. Somehow the Ahketians could call forth undead beings whose duty it was to provide services to Ahketians as a form of the Godking's appreciation to his subjects. The Seeker believes a being called Phar'Ahkt is one of these beings and he holds secrets of the Ewer of Sul'Dae. I just need to find a way to call him forth.
I located a Phar'Un Tributary Monolith, but I still do not know how to release the whispering haunt named Phar'Ahkt.
I have applied the runes collected from the creatures in the Living Tombs to the Phar'Un Tributary Monolith.
The whispering haunt named Phar'Ahkt has told me to seek the Steward of Fyr'Un in the aqueducts of the Living Tombs.I called forth the whispering haunt named Phar'Ahkt. This undead being informed me of the origin of the ewer and placed its location at the beginning of Ahket Aken's aqueduct system. The rare runes, Phar can also be found in caves below the Chimney of Anuk. You need to clear the mobs first as fast as you can then two groups of Sul' Dal Axefury will rush into cave and will give the valuable runes you need and some good loot as well.

The best place to farm Phar runes is the eyes in Silent City.

Bug fix confirmed.. three AHK runes in my inventory and only one consumed by the monolith.

God forbid you actually want to read the answers to the other questions. He despawns pretty quickly. And if you haven't selected his last dialog option yet, the quest doesn't advance. Go farm runes again.

Well thought quest was bugged because i could not get the monolith to accept runes a second time, when I actually needed to spawn the ghost to progress the quest. It wasn't broken, I didn't have all the required runes in inventory. When I had Ahk, Hek, Kan, Phar and Tal in inventory the monolith allowed me to start placing them and the ghost spawned and I progressed the quest.

This actually requires a 5th rune, which is the Tal rune. I only found this out by camping runes for like 2 hours. make sure you have all 5 runes, or you will lose the other 4.

DO not insert runes into the monolith and spawn the ghost or you are screwed on the I seek knowledge quest. Seems you only get one chance to place the runes and if done before on this part of the quest ther is no hope for an update. Maybe SoE will get it head out of its ....well never mind. If any one found a work around like going back 5-6 quests in series please let me know.

Well has anyone been fixed from the part where u cannot use Runes? I would like to know i am on that part and it will not allow me to use runes for next update.

The bug is still in effect. It just took the runes out of my shared bank. Fortunately I had just handed the rar Phar rune to my playing companion - it did however take the one out of my bank.
So - leaving it in the bank won't help!!! Have a friend hold it.

***WARNING*** To Clarify a Bug with this quest.
When you put a rune into the Stone Monolith, it sucks all the runes of the same type out of your Inventory.
EXAMPLE (what happened to me)
I had 2 sets of each rune in my inventory.
Was going to give the second set to my Wife after I interacted with the monolith.
The Monlith Sucked up each rune TWICE without any indication it would do so.
--- Know this before you burn up a Rare PHAR rune on this quest.

This quest is still bugged. If you and your group friends put all of your runes in and one say its fine the quest guy can go he disapears leaving the rest without quest update and no runes to respawn him. He will only update the quest in his spawned form not his random pop so u are stuck at this point . No way to get more runes and not way to pop the proper quest mob! Vary fustrating just to stop someone from doing the quest to easy creates something that makes it very hard for another to be asble to do!

Tigerbane the quest "entrance to the obelisk" is not related to the seriese mentioned above. what you likely experienced, was your last selected quest apearing in the quest helper window, when you completed your previous quest. just look in your active quest and look for this quest name.

When it says 5 runes , they are specific runes AHK, HEK, KAN, TAL and the rare as heck PHAN , once you have those 5 runes It should work fine for you. You cannot sub any other runes for those five.

Though the walkthrough makes no mention of it you must inspect the Monolith to get an update before talking to Phar'Ahkt if he is already up, otherwise the quest will not update.

A bit more clarification... The first update comes upon examining the Monolith. The next update comes from spawning Phar'Ahkt using the runes. It is at this point you go through the dialog to get the final update.

Seems the bug is fixed now.
i also spawned the ghost even before i got the quest.
had to get the runes once again, but then i was able to spawn the ghost again, got update and now i need to speek to the ghost in the tunnels

I'm bugged aswell.. I examined and put the runes in the monolith before being on that step. GM said now ay around it yet and pointed me to this thread.. which did NO good. -sigh-

I have the same issue Ent had. I DO have all 5 runes in my inventory and I know the undead language. I am on the step to unlock the ghost but when I right click and inspect the monument it does not give me any option to insert the runes or anything. The only option is Exit. As mentioned, the ghost does spawn on his own periodicly but speaking to him then does not advance the quest.
While I was there, another group came along and all 3 people were able to insert their runes and advance the quest just fine. However, each person needs to insert their own runes so no group update. So, this is apparently bugged for some people and works fine for others.
I am at work at the time the servers are reset so if players are causing it to be bugged, chances are it will be bugged by the time I can play.
If anyone has had this problem and found a way to get it to work, I would really appreciate it!

The ghost seems to spawn at random intervals after someone has placed the runes and talk to him. Everytime i go to the monument to try and complete this quest i can get the ghost to spawn if i wait a few minutes but i never get an option to place the runes. My quest jounral says find a way to unlock him (needs to be done before i speak with him) so i cannot complete the quest. Im gussing if the previous person does not dismiss the ghost then they bug it for the rest of the people. If i dismiss the ghost the spawns he comes back in another 5 minutes or so. Is this bugged or am i doing something wrong?
