Does anyone know what class you need to be to get the Opaque Earring of Silence? I would have thought with the 5 int and 5 wis on it that it would be offered to priests and casters, but as a fury I was only offered the 3 wis earring, Learned Adept's Hoop.

The earring you are offered as a reward is based on your class. When attempting to do this quest to get the wisdom earring for my fury, it only offered me the intelligence earring being a necro.

This quest is listed as lvl 29 in my quest book please adjust the recomended lvl accordingly.

the vets are easyer to get to from T4 than RoV just hug the wall to south west from there and you will find lots ... would recomend a group of 25 plus though as not only are they 29 level mobs but there is a lot of chance for adds in the area ... from rov you just get lots and lots of trash mobs to clear that you dont want and a rare vet .

I believe that Skeletal Troopers are placeholders.

Skeletal Veterans are not rare spawns... They are static (atleast the ones near Varsoons) and can be found at loc -383, +765

I just finished this and got a simular earing but you might want to adjust the expereince. i think 15% at lvl 26 is a little better than average.

I dont possibly see how this can be recommended lvl 21. I got a whole group of lvl 21-23s together to do the quest. We had a great group with everything needed: dps,healer,mezzer, etc. So we all watch our step and carefully make our way to the entrance of the ruins of varsoon only to find out that veterans are a rare spawn and that everything there is so unbelievably higher than our current level we'd be nuts to even think about trying to wait for the veterans.

Our whole group had this quest. When we completed it we all got 13sp and a really nice earring. The earring was slightly different for each class and had a magic affinity requirement of 140, so not usable until 28. Not sure how i can link the item to this site but send me an e-mail if thats possible.

I found a coin claiming that I will reap the rewards of battle should I bring the skeletal veterans to their final rest. I am going to engage the skeletal veterans in the Thundering Steppes and see what happens.
I have slain the skeletal veterans and learned a great deal from the battle.I was able to learn some interesting battle strategies while engaging the skeletal veterans. I feel that I have learned more than I normally would from the experience.
