Zaveda X'vch has underhandedly "asked" me to journey to the Fallen Gate and seek out clues as to the whereabouts of a Thexian wizard she suspects knows about Kanos X'aphon's nightly entrances to Fallen Gate. Having dealt with Kanos before, I am not expecting much reward for this when I'm done, however it seemed I was in a do or die situation, and besides, how bad could this wizard really be?
Stage 1
Zaveda wants me to go to Fallen Gate and find clues as to the exact location of the wizard. Talking to some of the living inhabitants in Fallen Gate may help with this task.
Start: | I need to look for clues in Fallen Gate. |
---|
Complete: | I've heard of some Thexians who made their way into the depths. |
---|
I've spoken to Marlia Safefoot. She could not seem to stop rambling about her problems, but she did mention seeing four dark elves pass her way a few nights back, I hope these are the same dark elves Zaveda wants me to find.Stage 2
I must find some sign of the dark elves I'm searching for; if I'm lucky the wizard and his friends are already dead.
Start: | I need to find the whereabouts of the Thexians. |
---|
Complete: | I've found the scene of a recent battle. |
---|
I've found the scene of a recent battle. It looks like only the wizard got away.Stage 3
The wizard's companions will have risen like the other denizens of this place. It may be easier to find them than a wizard in hiding. I should look for fallen explorers. I'll know I have the right ones if they possess Thexian artifacts.
Start: | I need to find three seals. |
---|
Complete: | I have found three seals. |
---|
I've found three Thexian seals, but no evidence. That leaves the wizard. There appear to be some footprints leading to the pool...Stage 4
I must find the wizard; the footprints in the dirt may lead me to his hiding place.
Start: | I need to find the wizard. |
---|
Complete: | I've killed the wizard. |
---|
I've found the Thexian wizard, however he attacked me before I had a chance to interrogate him. I have taken his robe as proof of his death.Stage 5
I should examine the letter I found on the wizard's body, as it may provide some clues as to how the wizard knew about Kanos entering the city.
Start: | I need to examine the bloodstained letter. |
---|
Complete: | I have discovered the wizard's secret. |
---|
I've found a letter which explains how the wizard knew about Kanos's travels to Fallen Gate. I should show the letter to Zaveda.Stage 6
I must tell Zaveda of my findings. I'm sure she will be pleased.
Start: | I need to tell Zaveda of my discovery. |
---|
Complete: | I've shared my discovery with Zaveda. |
---|
I've spoken with Zaveda. Just as I thought, Kanos's lackey did not offer any real reward for my effort; getting rid of the wizard for Kanos must be all the reward she thought I deserved. She did let me keep the wizard's robe and any loose copper I happened to find in the pockets. Something is better than nothing and while I didn't find any copper, the necklace hidden in the cloth will do. I hope to never deal with Kanos or his ilk again, though I fear I may not be so lucky.
