This is a pool of purple goo at the very bottom of a "waterfall". There is apparently no way down to it except to jump but there is a lift located at the bottom of the pool that, when activated, will take you back up to a ledge with another lift, to the east, to get back up to the top.

The only denizen of this place is The Mutagenic Muck Lurker.
