Valdoartus was a contemporary of Rikantus Everling. While Everling was seeking a way to enter the realm of Ethernere to return his daughters to life, Valdoartus was concerned with cheating death and becoming immortal.

This encounter is just the ghost of his mortal spirit. In The Shadow Odyssey you get to do battle with the physical form of Varsoon, as a Lich!
