Maltus Everling  

Note if you have already killed Everling for any HQ and have the access you do NOT have to redo the everling lockets. Just go on down by the captains room and you can go right to Everling. Worked great in the Mask of the deceiver quest after already doing Hadden's Ear ring a few days before!

I soloed Lord Everling as a 45 Conj today. He is still 36^^^ with 2x36^ guards although both guards were not priests. One guard was a priest and one guard was a mage. If you have aura sense, the one with the green outline will be the priest and the one with the blue outline will be the mage. For those of you that don't have aura sense, the guard on the left of the room when I entered was the priest, although they were roaming guards so that may not always be the case.

When I took them down, I killed the priest first, then the mage, and then Everling. I had no mana left at the end of the fight and had to melee the last few hps out of him with my pet's assistance. I didn't check the numbers after the fight, but it seemed like the mage did the most damage, and Everling was dishing out slightly more damage than my pet. The fight lasted about 5 minutes.

I did this with average gear and my earth pet was adept iii with the master ii defensive stance. The rest of my spells were a mix of apprentice 1, adept 1, adept 3, and one master 1 spell.

Everling dropped a feysteel cluster, 2 - Adept 1 spells, a feysteel kite shield, and an opal ring.

You need him for the "A Missing Mask" and the "Fishbone Earring" Heritage quest too.

Also drops a High Quality Dear Pelt (the Legendary one)

As of august 5,2005 if it ever was required to be below 40 to get chest drop key to advance here it's not now. It does a auto update key find after the required kills. We had myself(42 pally), a 48 th troubador,and his 2 box 50 mystic and finished it fine --no chest drops needed. Kill was super easy even with the healer stuck below (fell off baclcony on auto follow ) lol.

We took him down easily

34 Templar (ME)
34 Guardian (Brother)
34 Ranger
36 Monk
39 Wizard
34 Shadownight

So oodles of DPS. We ran though the sisters in no time, but we all jumped down at the broken staircase. Man my bro and I are stupid. So we spent an hour looking around on the first floor for the Guard Captian.
Anyway.. You can add Dehydrated Opal to the Known Drops list for everling.

Guide to Maltus Everling

Here is a quick write-up I did on taking lord everling. Our group consisted of:

32 Shadowknight (Me)
35 Inquisitor
34 Assassin
33 Ranger
33 Templar
35 Necromancer

An enchanter is not required using this strategy, instead you will need to purchase or have an alchemist make Xaliran's Renewal potions for each member of the group.

Its not realy a Rare_Mob, its only at the end of the dungeon, but it is always up.
