Raising the Banner |
When the collection is complete, you can turn it in to any Collector NPC for your reward and a very nice chunk of experience.
These purple shinies can only be seen by wearing an excavation hat.
The silvered trinkets are by far the rarest items in the collection.
Note that this camp will be abandoned, with most buildings removed in D.I.R.T.Y. Phase 2. However shinies do still spawn in the area.
Shinies in the Lower Camp seem to be a bit more random, appearing at the periphery of the camp (including the cliff face) near the metal ankh shapes bordering the camp, as well as above the retaining wall (near the cobras). Some specific locations:
Archeologist's Token of the Excavation -- A purple orb that, when rubbed, ports you to the Airship dock in the Sinking Sands. This item can only be placed in your house. It cannot be placed in the Guild Hall.
This collection was originally introduced during the Void Storms World Events, which featured the D.I.R.T.Y. crew excavating an airship site in The Sinking Sands. The shinies were introduced in two stages: phase one brought the broken and worn trinkets, and phase two (which ran from October 28 through November 17, 2008) added in the stained and silvered trinkets.
During the event, you could buy an Excavation Helmet from Jimbo McDaniel for 10 D.I.R.T.Y. Money and equip it to see the shinies for this collection. For those who missed the event, you can visit Toggery von Gearbender in Lavastorm to acquire one of his Excavation Hats through a quest, Tinkering with Toggery, to see the shinies.
This article refers to events, personae, items and activities that were involved in the Void Storms World Event, which started with GU46 and ran until The Shadow Odyssey went live. The event has now concluded, but this information is retained for historical purposes. |
