Current Kickstarter backers have the opportunity to jump into the game!

Shards Online, an Indie Sandbox MMORPG currently in development by Citadel Studios, continues its Kickstarter campaign with an exciting event: the Battle of the Backers.

Current backers should have a message on Kickstarter with a link to download the pre-alpha game client, which you should have ready to go before the event (new backers can get the link upon request). At 8pm ET (5pm PT) on Friday, May 30th, Citadel will pass out keys to access the game to randomly selected users in their livestream chat. Participants will receive a "Tribute" in-game title upon the game launch and the winner gets bragging rights! Read more about the Battle of the Backers here.

Wednesday evening we had the opportunity to play Shards Online for a while, and were able to livestream it as well. It was very fun even in its pre-alpha state, and holds a lot of potential once things can open up to the modding community.
