Hi-Rez Studios announces plans to beef up the competetion with the announcement of its two upcoming SMITE tournaments.

If you're planning to attend either Gamescom or PAX Prime, you might be in for a god-like time! Today Hi-Rez Studios announced that its next two big SMITE tournaments will be taking place at the upcoming conventions.

The first tournament will take place at the Gamescom ESL stage on Friday, August 23 with the four invited European teams competing for the €15,000 prize-pool. Following this, the North American event tournament will take place at PAX Prime in Seattle, Washington between August 30th and September 2nd. The top four American teams will be competing at PAX for a prize pool of $20,000.

Participating teams are selected for these tournaments based upon their performance in the SMITE Tournament Series; a weekly online competition between the best professional SMITE teams. If you haven't managed to be a part of one of the competing teams picked for these tournaments, and are unable to attend these events, there's no need to worry! Both tournaments will be live-streamed via the SMITE official Twitch Channel.
