World of Tanks Blitz announced at GDC 2013
Tanks are coming to a smartphone or tablet near you
Fresh from GDC 2013, Russian based developer Wargaming has announced the latest in their expanding list of multi-platform free-to-play titles; World of Tanks Blitz.
The new mobile title will be available on Android and iOS devices, but don't let that fool you into thinking that this is just a dumbed down version of Wargaming's flagship PC title. World of Tanks Blitz promises to deliver "console-quality visuals and realistic physics".
In a press release earlier today, Victor Kislyi, CEO of Wargaming, had this to say about his new title:
"With World of Tanks Blitz we're doing our best to give players a gaming experience that would rival anything they could find on a console. We've always been committed to bringing World of Tanks to new platforms and we're excited to give players a chance to experience the game in a whole new way."
Like its PC parent before it, World of Tanks Blitz will feature several playable nations, including the USA, Germany, and the USSR, and give players access to a variety of tanks including medium and heavy tanks, as well as tank destroyers. Built specifically for the mobile arena, the new title will take full advantage of the touch-screen interface, allowing tank commanders to thumb their way to victory.
But victory is not in the power of the thumb alone. World of Tanks Blitz will place players in intense 7 versus 7 PVP battles where tactics and team strategies will be key to victory.
Along will all of their titles, Wargaming plans to bring World of Tanks Blitz under their soon to be launched, unified login service at Wargaming.net.
Whether you're a veteran tank commander looking to hone your skills on the go, or just looking for a new mobile title to pick up, be sure to check out the World of Tanks Blitz website for more details.
