Vida Needs a New Broom  

Sony must have changed the NPCs locations for this quest, because they aren't anywhere near the waypoints posted. Vida is located in the Shipyards in Qeynos Harbor at 940, -25, 103. Tawli is at the stables but outside of it rather than inside at 431, -20, 231.

ummm...i need this quest to get to Restoring Ghoulbane..and i dunno how to get the quest....please talk with me on game...im not on this site a lot

and when i talk to Vida she just says she has to pick up rocks

I was able to zone into Nettleville using the bells at the dock, and go get the quest from Vida. I am an evil toon, and as the guards in the village were grey to me, there was no problem. ;-)

You can get this quest as a freeport citizen. The guards just try to kick you constantly.

If you are on freeport side and are member of a guild on both sides, it's way cheaper to use a good ALT to get the dusty blue stone, then stick it in the GUILD BANK and have your evil person get it out on the other side.

This will save you about 20-50g buying over buying it. Free is a good price!

Another option is to use a good ALT to get the stone, then hand it to a friend who can run it over to Commonlands and hand it off to your Freeport toon.

Confirmed you can not get the broom quest from Vida as a freeporter. At least not as of today when i tried it.

Vida Sweeps is (675.96, -20.42, 311.03) the second merchant along the west wall of Nettleville Hovel from the mariner's bell. Just turn left and walk a few steps.

Tawli Wiskwind is at (826.98, -13.87, -487.59) the front door of a hillside house in Baubleshire. Its the most northern door on the second row of doors built into the hill. Just follow the path around to the right from the bell.

You will receive a dusty blue stone. Examine it and wipe it off to receive The dusty blue stone quest.

This on the stone not being in your inventory. I did this on a qeynos alt and DID NOT get a blue stone. So I went to talk to the dorf, Gruf somthing or other, and he furthered me in my quest. I now have to go to the steppes and harvest.

As for how to complete this witha freeport toon. I am not sure as I coudnt get vida to talk to me as a Freeportian.(I may have had agro froma guard also so, this maybe should be tested again)

The trick to getting around the guards is to use your Freeport toon to anger the guard from a distance that is far enough away from the point you need to be and then have a qeynosian click the guard and get the box open to find NPC to keep said guard stationary.

This isnt hard to do but might take a bit of testing in order to figure out where to pull the guard to.

You CAN in fact start quests while invis. I am a L25 Swash, and I do it all the time, not only that, but you can also do talk-to's during the quest for updates...

It most certainly works for me. Not sure if it would work for Freeportians.

You cant initiate a quest if your invisible as the NPC cant see you so wont talk to you

Is there a way for freeport players to start the quest? Even if you sneak pass the guards in Qeynos, Qeynos-NPCs won't give you any quests...
But because this quest has so many heritage following quests, I guess, there has to be a way for freepot players to start it, too ;)

After speaking to Gruffin you need to go to Thundering Steps to mine 40 rocks from Sunswept Rocks/Stones.

Speak to Gruffin again for 5.5 SL (no xp)

he then asks you to go find a Mage who knows about stones....who this is i dont know.

After you mine the rock samples, Gruffin tells you to take it to a mage (guy through red teleport), who asks you to make a delivery to the Village of Thundermist, then tells you to take it to a priest (guy outside temple of life) who tells you to kill undead in SH. I have two bubs of debt from SH, so I'm not talking to priest again till it goes away....
