Completing this quest gives you entry to Bloodskull Valley. Bloodskull Valley is a 12-24 player raid zone in the Commonlands.
The quest is given by Wounded Scout at 282, -46.93, 502.79 in Commonlands. You must kill four Bloodskull officers to complete this quest:
- Commander Du'Nar: Paths the entire orcs area.
- Commander Grik'Sna: Paths the entire orcs area
- General Vhar'Taug: On the secon floor of the tower to the west of Vrah'Kna -555.48, -31.42, 418.70
- Lieutenant Vrah'Kna: In a tower at -364, -48, 450
After you kill all four orcs this quest auto-completes - no need to turn quest back in to the quest giver NPC.

The survivor of an expedition gave me some sort of ring that might be useful against orcs if socketed with the jewels of the orc officers here within the commonlands. Such a strange looking ring, it seems rather worthless. Let's see what happens once I've placed all of the gems into the ring.
I now have all the gems needed to resocket this ring.Well, I managed to socket this ring with the gems and it's come to life. Since I don't know who to take this to in Freeport, I might as well hang onto it for safe keeping.

For Return of the light you no longer need to do this access quest .. simply speak to Amulius Ramio who is hidden behind a rock near to the BSV doors, he asks you to kill Mauvin, which then allows you to zone into the correct instance needed for ther Heritage :)

Is it true that you don't need to do access? Cause I'm trying to get this stupid HQ, Return of the Light, done for my guild, and am in NO mood to be camping more names than I have to! I HATE IT! Thanks

An easy trick to get the nameds to spawn for this quest is to kill off any orc or goblin runners you see ... they travel all over.

You no longer need to do The Search for Bloodskull Valley quest to get into BSV: Maulic's Stronghold. One clue to this is that the quest is no longer under the Access Quests category in your quest journal.
This is now just a normal quest, with an item reward. The reward is the "Signet of the Orc General", a level 12 ring with 5 STR/STA/INT, 15 health, 15 power, and +45 vs magic and divine.

Where is this Amulius Ramio?

In order to get access to Bloodskull Valley: Maulic's Stronghold I HAD TO TALK to Amulius Ramio. I had to complete "The Search for Bloodskull Valley" first, but could only get into the excavation entrance until I talked to Amulius Ramio. I think it may depend on what city you are from as to whether or not you have to talk to him.

I had the same problem with getting access and just by chance I had to log out and logged back in a short after that by the entrance. When I logged back in I had the option to enter Maulic's Stronghold.

U DO NOT speak to Amulius Ramio (especially since he won't talk to you anyway) to get the BSV Access quest! You speak to the wounded scout at said location!

I have the same issue. Quest completed, no option to enter Maulic's Stronghold. All I have is Righting The Scales and The Excavation Site. Anyone know the score on this?

LOL, what is up with this? I did the access quest, zoned in prepared to blast a ton of orcs and it sent me to the other BSV instance. Anyone get resolve on some sort of quest change?

OK, guildie clued me in. You have to hail a Freeport Militia dude hiding to the right of the entrance.

you need to talk to the guy behind the rock beside the BSV entrance you say you will help him and he gives you the key to access Maulics Stronghold.

I am having the same problem after LU24. I can no longer get to the Maulic's Stronghold instance. I have sent in a bug report.

Has something changed since LU24? I have completed the access to Bloodskull Valley and got the ring (?) but no access into Maulic's stronghold. Other groupy also has done access and doesn't have multiple options on clicking the gate.

After killing all the guardians and before sending the "Message" to Blackhammer, I had to go back and speak with Dyric Pire in East Freeport. Andres BH did not spawn before I did so. Dyric had a red book above his head when I did so, so I feel confident this was the way to go. And now here is Blackhammer, just where everyone says, a lvl20 heroic w/ one up arrow. No Drop.

Note on Commanders...you will have to kill one to spawn the other.

Raeg spawns at exact loc -325, -39.98, 345.36 (south of kerran village) every five minutes. The spawns will either be Raeg, Gaer or Ogof. Reag is the PH for both Gaer and Ogof and is the most common spawn. Hope this helps.
