Lieutenant Darius is seeking someone to exterminate an assassin menace named Marius Darkblade.
Marius can be found in the Darkblade portion of The Thieves' Way ( -123, 0.8, -150 ) . He is level 12 ^ and his wife is level 11 ^. They are not grouped, however.
Kill him and return his head to Darrius for a decent chunk of silver and experience.

I've been conscripted to serve the Freeport militia. Another way to put it is I've offered to do Darrius's work for him. I'm to go to Thieves' Way, find the felon Marius and retrieve stolen goods and his head.
I've the head of Marius and the sack stolen goods.That's gratitude for you. I do the Freeport militia a favor and all they can do is complain about the way I did it. I retrieved the stolen goods and brought back Marius's head... So they were in the same sack, big deal.

Looks like this quest is no longer offered by Lieutenant Darius, can anyone confirm?

I could not get the quest. Maybe you have to be a citizen of freeport?

That seems likely. Since it was in our latest data dump (obsolete quests often disappear) and reliable sites like EQ2 Questlist still list it, I'm inclined to believe there's some kind of requirement we're not seeing.

yeah ive gone in to check if he was there three times so far. hes never there, but always other people that say "yeah we've been here for half and hour waiting for him to spawn."

Might be coincidental, but Marius respawned when I killed all mobs (mostly level 7'ish) in the room next to the one he and his wife should be.

Took a while for the respawn but when it came it was at -122.87, 0.79, 150.35.
For me he spawned on his own and was a level 12^

He was 12^^^ and his wife 11^^^ today - as i was solo i left well enough alone lol

I just finished this (solo, barb crusader) at level 16 and got a whopping 33S and a few % points. I got some awesome drops from Marius, too, so I'd say this is at least an 8 or 9 for Money/Items.

I got this quest by examining "a small piece of parchment" dropped by a Darkblade in the Thieve's Way. The quest is called "The Failed Assassin."

Found Marius finally he was level 12 ^^. He was not grouped with his wife, but did have a group flag. He spawns right next to his wife. When i got there he was not up, but his wife was. I killed his wife, and when she respawned he respawned with her.

Is marius I assume in the den of assassins just down the tunnel a small step past his wife? where it says you need 3 to 6 in your group to enter?

well i have been camping the area for obout 2 hours and all i can get to spawn is lady darkblade. anyone know what i am doing wrong or does it just take time to make him spawn?

To get to the Darkblade area, enter Thieve's Way through the Big Bend entrance. Then just go straight for a long time and you'll run right into the Darkblades.

I still had this quest hangning around at lvl 18 so I decided to finish it off. He was lvl 12^^ and his wife was lvl 11^^. I killed his wife before he spawned so I do not know if they were grouped.

I went to find Marius. On the occassion I was in there, Marius and his wife were grouped.

Where is the Darkblade portion of Thieve's Way? I've never been able to find it.

character is a lvl 13 crusader and just finished the quest with 4 other people.
I gained 8 silver and 13% experience. I would say those rewards are in the excellent range.
