Simply pull the skittering monitors to the row of 3 filament stranglers.
[ -12.31, 54.78, 260.42] Almost directly SE of the quest giver.
You can do this quite easily by pulling with a ranged weapon or spell.
Once the monitors reach the stranglers, the plants will instantly kill them.
After the monitor is dead, look on the ground for a "filament encapsulated monitor". Pick this item up and you shall receive credit.
Lather, rinse and repeat until you've completed the task.

Zo`dok has learned of a strange plant to the south ( -37, 51, 253 ) that eats flesh. It ensnares its prey with filaments that extend from the ground. Bring him some filament encapsulated skittering monitors to study.
Lure the skittering monitors to the filament strangler by engaging them and pulling them over. It will grab them and they become a harvestable "filament encapsulated monitor" which you can collect with the gathering skill.
Gather four encapsulated monitors and bring them to Bio-Parser Zo`dok for your reward and another quest.
