When one of our party revived, he ended up outside the zone with a lockout.

So be sure and have someone FD or have some other way to get the raid back up when they wipe.

I've searched wikia, the eq2players, and simply searching via Google, but I cannot find any information on how this encounter works.

I've tried it several times (while he cons) and Faroth literally does not lose hp and seems to hit like a train.

I was told that the fight works similarly to the Pawbuster fight. I cannot manage to find an area where Faroth takes damage from the terrain or any sort of debuff hits him.

Would anyone be so kind as to post some information on the strategy behind this mob?

There are 3 Tentacle terror "Armor Inducers" hidden behind 3 breakable walls. Killing these armor inducers makes Faroth more vulnerable to damage. Every so often a big red message will go up on your screen "<playername> has been marked for death!" Soon after, a gnoll with a bomb/barrel will run to that person and drop the barrel on them. The key is to have the person called out to run up to one of the breakable walls and wait for the explosion to take out the wall, then have 1 or 2 dps kill the armor inducers inside. Once one or 2 are down you can kill Faroth (all 3 just makes it faster).

I'm planning on hitting Splitpaw today on my Fury if I can get her geared up in time. I'll update the wiki with what I find out. Please post another comment if you discover the trick sooner. :)

This quest is given by Seeress Bloodhackle in the Splitpaw Den, after you get your Darkened Shard to Glowing Shard status, by completing four quests in the Splitpaw Den.

This quest gives you access to the epic x4 raid zone, The Drowned Caverns: Brutal Acts of War. The Entrance to The Drowned Caverns: Acts of War is at -10, 35, -1.82 in The Drowned Caverns. Climb the pillar, the entrance is in the hollow of the pillar.

Once inside you must kill Faroth Mal.
