You must harvest the scarab in the room with mad poet to get update and you then have to harvest ink bottle in room with bard before you can thank bard and get reward.

You do not need to delete "The Mad Poet" to finnish "Quiet but effective". Just pick up the ink before you talk to the bard and it will work properly.

To get the quests from the Djinn lord, you have to have done PP access yourself

I am unable to get into Poets Palace, it says...
"You do not meet the required specifications" or something like that. It doesn't seem right not being able to retrieve the quest in the place you need an access quest to get into...anybody else having this problem?

As Shotan posted I had to delete "The Mad Poet" quest in order to get the Mute Bard to talk to me to complete the "Quiet But Effective" quest.

I can confirm that in order to finish this Quest I had to go in the room with the Mad Poet and harvest a scarab in the corner to get the quest update.

To thank the mute bard all u need to do is pick up the vial of ink next to him advanceing the mad poet quest. After doing that hail him and you will get your reward.

My best guess is that you must have PP-access to complete "Quiet but Effective". Guildies got me into PP, but I am still working on PP-access. Inside I got to Mad Poet. I also couldn't get a quest from The Djinn Master.

I was unable to get the bard to talk with me this morning until I deleted The Mad Poet. Rereading the Mue Bards Tale did not make him speak up as the poster below suggested it might.

Beepenstein, i finished tis quest today and i have the mad poet in my journal, all i had to do was to re-read the book the mute bard gave me to start with. after re-reading i just hail'd him again and finished the quest. no need to delete any quests

I've found that you can't have the quest "The Mad Poet" at any time you're trying to advance this quest. I had to delete it to start this quest, and had to delete it again later to finish this quest.

I previously harvested teh scarab for the music box quest.
Entering this room and hailing the mad poet does not advance this quest for me.
It doesn't make sense that I should have to harvest a scarab when the quest says I need to find a secret room in a hidden chamber...

I have gone to the mad poets room, harvested the scarab... quest journal says to thank the mute bard... however he does not respond to me.
Do I have to finish another quest other than "Quiet but Effective" to have him respond or is this a bug?

You cant progress in poets palace bacause you need to quest each floor to unlock the mirrors. Get someone who has done it to go with you. Too much to write here.

Reward for completing this quest is The Satchel of Song - a 20 slot bag with 35% weight reduction.

The secret chamber is actually the room with the mad poet on the third floor. In the room a blue scarab will spawn to those that have the quest. Harvest this to update the quest.
After doing this return to the mute bard in Shimmering Citadel to get a 20 slot bag with nice wt. reduction and a house item version of the book he gave.

the room needed is on the 3rd floor od peots palace, There is a mad poet there that you talk too .. also you need to harvest the blue scarab in the corner of the room. Go back to mute bard and quest will end. But mad poet gives another quest

He is on the third floor of the Scriptorium in the The Shimmering Citadel.
Because he is mute so you must play the "guessing game" to communicate with him (just keep hitting dialogues until it works).
He will give you a book called The Mute Bard's Tale. Read the book to initiate the quest.
You have to find the secret room in the Shimmering Citadel. This is actually the third floor of the Poet's Palace where Nhjela the Mad Poet spawns.
Note: If Mutey won't talk to you, and you have The Mad Poet quest, then look for the bottle of ink that you need and pick it up. Aftter you get the update, then he will "talk" to you.

In a tower of the Court of the Djinn Master, I met a mute bard who's asked me to undertake a quest on his behalf. The poor fellow had his tongue cut out by the djinn, simply for having a beautiful voice! Apparently there is a secret room here in the Court in which he has hidden something important.
I will always remember the mute bard.For some reason, the mute bard trusted me with the location of the hidden lapis scarab. I guess it pays to have an honest face.
