I started on the Western ones first and when clicking on the snow piles nothing happened at all. Then I went to the Eastern piles and after left clicking the "warm water" revealed the trap which could then be rearmed or whatever. After doing the Eastern piles and getting the two updates, went back to the Western piles and they worked fine.

So start with Eastern ones...

Speak to Cala Giantender at 70,-331,-522 on Blisterrock Ridge within Great Divide to begin this quest.

Rearm the traps to the east. Right-click mounds of snow from 40,-338,-478 and eastward, seeing whether or not the traps need to be rearmed, until you have the two updates.
Rearm the traps to the west. Right-click mounds of snow from 264,-366,-595 and westward, seeing whether or not the traps need to be rearmed, until you have two updates.
Return to Cala Giantender to complete the quest.

Cala Giantender "reminded" me to rearm the traps which have been placed in the path of incoming Kromrif troops. Pouring warm water on the locations where these traps have been lain should reveal them. If they have been triggered, I should set them again. If they have not yet been triggered, I should leave them alone.

Stage 1

I should reveal and rearm any traps that need rearming.

Start:	Rearm traps at the eastern front.
Complete:	I rearmed a couple of traps at the eastern front.

Start:	Rearm traps at the western front.
Complete:	I rearmed a couple of traps at the western front.

I rearmed several traps.

Stage 2

I should inform Cala Giantender of my success.

Start:	Return to Cala Giantender.
Complete:	I returned to Cala Giantender.

I informed Cala Giantender of my success.

I carefully rearmed the traps for Cala Giantender.
