I got this to drop of A Bog Sludge today.

This quest starter dropped today (08/14/06) in a chest from a rot crawler.

I can confirm that this is only dropped by bog sludges.

Having spent a lot of time studying the ecology of the bog sludge, I can also boldly state that bog sludge 'place holders' are almost always:

1) a bog slug and one or two bog slug hatchlings
2) a pair of mobile puny scavengers (not the static ones in logs and on stumps).
3) a single mobile lvl 5 mob (usually a puny scavenger)

Chest drop only item and yes ive only gotten them from 'a bog sludge'. Very rare drop for me. LORE NOTRADE NOVALUE flags.
