Speak to Areth Windvell at The Ruined Homestead.

Enter the Kromise Caves and use the Explo Powder SGL that was given to you by Areth. The item is only usable around the 4th giant spawn point inside the cave -91.91, -23.66, -1096.17 .
When you use the item, four monsters each conning 49vv will spawn and attack you. They do not need to be killed for the quest.
Return to Areth.

Areth Windvell would like me to place a magical device in the center of the Kromise caverns that will bring them down and on top of the Kromise.

Stage 1

I need to use the device in the Kromise caverns in order to bring them down and on top of the Kromise.

Start:	I need to travel back to the Kromise caverns and place down the device.
Complete:	I tried to place the device down, but as soon as I did, I was attacked by a group of both Kromise giants and Icegill goblins.

I used the device in the caverns but was attacked by a group of both Kromise giants and Icegill goblins when I tried.

Stage 2

I should report this development to Areth Windvell.

Start:	I need to see Areth Windvell in the ruined pioneer homestead.
Complete:	I have spoken with Areth Windvell.

I have reported this development to Areth Windvell.

I tried to place the device down, but as soon as I did, I was attacked by a group of goblins and giants.

i just did this and after a lot of hair pulling I found the spot to use the device at the following co-ords
-91.91, -23.66, -1096.17

So very close to the ones listed on this page but slightly different.

I had alot of trouble with this quest. I dropped the quest and picked it back up and still could not set the device.

It finally worked after I dismounted, so if you are having trouble with it...try that.

Fooled around with this quest for about 10 minutes, tried to Use device when I got the message about a good central point to place device, then would get "you must place in middle of Kromise Caves", where I was. Tried several locations including the exact location given and always watched for message. Then dumped the quest. May work for someone else but you can only waste so much time on these when there are many quests to do.

Two of "an icegill angler" and two of "a giant berserker" (didn't see this one in database) spawned for me during the quest. They were indeed all 49 vv. :)
