Thraixe believes the grinnin blood to have a very thick, possibly sustaining, property. Perhaps he is correct... though he may simply be slightly mad.
The pints of blood have all been harvested from the grinnin.
You have given the blood of the grinnin to Thraixe.Well, with all the blood harvested, Thraixe appears to be sated. He bids me continue, and speak with Dirin about what may lie ahead.

This quest is given by Thraixe Il'ferrai after you complete the "A Small Sampling" quest. He sends you back to the Tombs of Night to gather five vials of Mist Grinnin Blood.
The way this works is occasionally when you kill Grinnins "A Dead Grinnin" corpse will spawn. Hail it to update the quest. This appears to be random, so your actual mileage may vary.

I went and got all the drops but the last one so i Zoned out and back in and went straight to to kings room to get the last drop and killed there till the dead grinnin popped and i clicked on him to get the last quest up date and got nothing so now i have to go through the whole thing a gene and hope it works

I am seeing complaints about this quest as far back as 2005 and it is now Dec 22 2013
and SOE still hasn't fixed this quest. What a bunch of a-holes Sony Online Entertainment
are when it comes to fixing quests like this I had to clear it three times to get all

Okay, It doesn't matter if you log out before you complete this quest. Each of the bloods have a specific area that they spawn in. If you kill all the Grinnins and still are missing one, then zone out and back in and go to that particular area and kill there. Here is a list of the areas by blood numbers.
Blood #1 drops in the entry area.
Blood #2 drops just off the entry area where you get the first mini boss.
Blood #3 drops in the passage down to the chiefs area.
Blood #4 drops in the chiefs area.
Blood #5 drops in the water where you have to kill the fish.
Blood #1 drops in the entry area.

I'm sorry but this theory is wrong, I just got the first and second pints on the second floor killing the ruffians near the pit of bones, I am not saying that the loc to go, but I believe that the spawns are random throughout the area.

I concur with PettiL; the locations for the drops seem to be independant of their numbering. #1 dropped in the hallway down to the ruffians, while #2 dropped upstairs in the sporechanter area.

WOOT!!! They must have fixed it. This quest is still terrible but I had to zone and log due to time contraints and was able to come back and finish it. I did not have to start over. However I did notice that the goblins popped after certain mobs have been cleared. Ones in particular were one of the gorups of summoners and the spore chanter guy from the previous quests. Also I got one for killing the chieftan and some of the netflingers. Hope this helps.

I got the first three to drop on the top level. I hit groups and single grinnin walking around and got drops off both. They seem to spawn randomly, so keep hitting till they drop. When you have three from groups/single encounters on the top level I'd suggest moving to the second level and hit things there.
You cannot get the pints of blood from the drained grinnin the vampires are trying to suck dry. It only lets you get them from DEAD grinnin. I tried - didn't work.

Maybe u can also get updates from the dead grinnins the vampires suck dead. im on this part now and will let ya know if its possible

You may be able to get the updates of other mobs as well. I just had a body materialize after killing the mudrakers that Chief Strongarm summons.

Apparently dying or evac'ing causes the "dead grinnin" to vanish. This in turn, resets the blood count.
I was on my 5th pint of blood and cleared the zone, and got no update. I noticed at this point that none of the "dead grinnin" were around. So I suspect when I evac'd or died, it removed the corpses.

This quest is awful, earlier tonight I got 4/5 of the bloods and had to log, then I come back on and realize I have to get another 5 consecutive corpse drops to finish it, this is outrageous, it can take hours to get the 5 corpses solo. Whoever designed this quest, and the other Tomb of Night quests, should be dragged into the street and beaten.

Horrible quest. Horrible zone. Only worth doing if you really want the Blood Drenched Gi and /or Devastation fist. Had to kill almost every mob in the zone to get the 5 vials of blood. Sack the designer -or make them paly the level twice in a row, That'd be a worse punishment.

You have to get all 5 bodies in 1 sweep of the zone. If you leave after say, 3 bodies, when you come back to finish it (and get the other 2 pints), the first 3 bodies you find wont do anything. You wont be able to ding the 4th pint of blood until the 4th body drops. Be warned - dont leave the zone until all 5 bodies (and pints) got if you can possibly manage it.
Seems to drop randomly from *any* mob of grinnin in the zone.
Also got Drained Will on us NOT from a trapped vase. It just suddenly appeared mid fight with no mention of it in combat text. Nasty.

So im still kinda confused which mob to kill for this dead grining to pop? Can someone name a few that pop on them after killing a certain mob. Also this quest here is the same zone the first quest right? Cuz im about to just go in a kill everything from
floor to floor.

I have to say that this quest really sucks just for the fact that we MAY have to do the Tomb a secound time, third, fourth and so on...
Yesterday I forgot about the "number" on the Dead Grinnins so it was late and I logged on the third Dead Grinnin. Today I had to do them all over again. Did 'till the fourth Dead Grinnin until the server went down. Now I have to do them all over again to get my fifth Dead Grinnin.
I'm a lvl 43 Berserker and this is no fun. Even if I was a lvl 33-36 it still would be no fun to do the same things over and over again.
In my oppinion SOE should take off the "number" on Dead Grinnins and just consider their quantity.

I have just confirmed that dead grinnin objects DO NOT spawn every time you complete the ring events. Just did 2 in a row with no spawns. They seem to be entirely random.

Something I noticed when I did the first quest. The dead grinnins also pop when you finish each event. When I went in for this event, I also triggered the named and killed them. A dead grinnin popped every time in addition to just random spawns on mob kills.

If you have tracking you might want to turn off every con color except white. This makes it easier to see the "dead grinnin" spawn when it pops onto tracking.

Confirmed what Rennie said. If you have 3 samples you wont be able to loot dead grinnis until you have made 3 of them...I hope this isn't the calculation for the fifth :(

I can CONFIRM that the dead grinnin can spawn after ANY grinnin reguardless of up arrow or not is killed (but most commonly off of the groups without arrows)

Confirming the above. Allthough the dead grinnin spawn in order. So be sure to check after each kill. (Can be very hard to see if it spawn in water.)
Basically if you have all updates execpt f.e nr 3, you will have to go back in and kill grinnin til you have gotten 3 dead grinnins, (first 2 wont be sampleable).

Need help locating number 2 and 5 blood's killed all the no up arrow goblins in the zone (which I have been told by several people is all you need to do for this same as first) and nothing on the last 2. Anyone got any help to offer?
