I went to Granite Hills as suggested by Daelic. There was only 1 Underwood Crawler, but I just killed everything in the area, and eventually they spawned. I am not sure what exactly spawned them. At one point there were a bunch of Nibbling Fawns, but only 1 Spawned Hopper, so I think there are other mobs involved in the spawn cycle.

I stumbled upon the best source for crawlers around 122.72, 75.75, 285.92.
just walk around that area (granite hills) and you'll find them. i was able to complete all 8 in about 10 minutes.

Anyone have some further information on these? I've been looking for way too long and haven't seen a hint of an underwood crawler.

The place holders seem to be the scaled hoppers and nibbling fawns. Especially prevelent near Opal Pond.
