Rask Helstot  

The quest Vale of Shattering is still being given and after accepting the quest
it is in your questjournal as completed stating you have not finished all of
Rask Helstot tasks. I was not sure what or how to complete it but i figured
it out eventually.

With the quest in your journal you must speak with Rask Helstot. He will
give you three tasks.

The First task he gave me was Proof of Worth.
The object of this quest is to kill 10 Gnolls in Antonica.
Seems very similar to the quest Proof of Ability that Rask Helstot is giving.
Maybe the name of the quest has been changed over time.

The Second Task he gave me was Vale of the Shattering: Investigating the Trail

The third Task was Vale of the Shattering: Dispersing the Unkempt.
See for more info the related quest.

After handing the third quest and accepting your reward, you instantly
receive another pop up window with the quest Vale of the Shattering Reward.

This is a Quest_NPC that gives the serie of acces quests to the vale of shattering:
- Proof of Ability (kill some mobs, gnolls if I remember welle)
- Investigating the trail (find a place in Antonica called the vale, the talk to Dworn Soulforge neer the Stepps station)
- Dispersing the Unkempt (kill some druids of the unkempt, in the forest NE of the tower of vhalen, neer the aqueduc - need a group)
Vale of shattering may be a guild quest but I never went there...
