After killing Bloodtalon in Thundering Steppes you go back and see Hwal.
He then sends you to get Stout in Black Burrow. Find the brewery and find the larger kegs next to the wall. "Note....not the bottles sitting on the kegs" Right click on the top barrel to get the stout. Not sure if you HAVE to kill the Gnolls in here before the keg can be selected. We had already killed them before we found the barrel.
Go back to see Hwal. He sends you to the Tower of Vahlen where you will go below the tower and kill the ghost of Vahlen. Might need a raid here. Try to be close to 30 level by the time you do this.
Return to Hwal and he sends you to Thundering Steppes to kill "Mature" Antelope and Firerock Giants near/on the bridge for a particular steel.
Then you go see Minty...or something like that in Thundermist Village. You will give her the things she needs to make the boots. You will have to wait approx. an hour (real life hour) to return to her for the boots. There is also a book to get on one of the beds behind her.
Sorry this is as far as I got. I am not sure if you go back to Hwal or not but I would assume you would. Either way this is the end of the quest.
For those who don't get to places with the location numbers he is located at the Keep of the Ardent Neddle. That is just east of the Northern Qeynos Tower in Antonica.
Note on first part of quest. He does in fact take the 50 Iron and Wood, but he took it straight from my bank vault instead of inventory. Now I don't know if you can talk to him for completion without having the 50 Iron and Wood on you, if you have the items in your bank. But it could be worth testing or it could simply be a bug.
Hwal starts the Heritage quest for Dwarven Work Boots. Quest is call 'These boots were made for...'
Quest may be level restricted but got it at 20.
Step 1 is to harvest 100 Ore and 100 Wood from Antonica. It must be in Antonica and the get around of passing items back and forth will not work.
After completing the harvest you must return to Hwal with at least 50 Ore and Wood in your inventory. However he doesn't take them from inventory. You are rewarded with some coin (approx 11s) and the next step.
Next step is:
Search Blackburrow for the ore Hwal needs for the blade.
Deep in Stormhold is a rare wood Hwal must have for the hilt.
Hwal specified a rare and tough Griffin hide from the Steppes for the bindings.
