This quest is given by Master Ko ( 113, -90, -1379 ) or Zhao Wu in the Ashen Order camp after you obtain ally with the Ashen Order or Ashen Disciples. It is the access quest for The Cave of Knowledge, which is found in the caves underneath the Ashen Order camp ( 100, -230, -1491 , swim in water to get to them).
Once inside you will need to clear some level 60 ^^^ mobs and reach Kufu in a tent there. Once you're there investigate the scroll on the table next to him. After this, return to Shen Rai for your choice of rewards.
The Cave of Knowledge is a repeatable instance with a 20 hour lockout timer.

I have spoken with an Ashen Disciple named Shen Rai. He has said that I can join the Disciples if I can reach The Keeper of Knowledge in the Cave of Knowledge. Once there I must find out what Kufu's attitude towards the Disciples is.
I have found a journal written by Kufu that clearly expresses his feelings towards the Disciples.
I have given Shen Rai the journal.I have found Kufu, The Keeper of Knowledge and his writings on the Ashen Disciples. I have given the information to Shen Rai, who still refused to make me a Disciple.

The quest con level is 55.
It is given by Shen Rai. Perhaps Master Ko starts the "Split in the Ashen Order" quest for the Ashen Order faction. This one is for the Ashen Disciples.
If you have killed a lot of Ashen Order monks to gain faction with the Disciples and get to this point, Shen Rai will be aggro, as will the monks around him. This hardly seems to make sense. I had to try to find that middle ground between his aggro range and hail-able range. Took a couple tries and I was glad I had feign death.

After finishing the last quest with Shin Ho to get Ally faction, I was told to speak with Shen Rai. Shen Rai did give me this quest.

After doing a bit of looking around, I found that this quest starts with Master Ko (113, -90, -1379) and not with Shen Rai. This may have been a change, but as of 16 Jan 2006, this is the starter NPC.

Mebash: I ended up in same state. You have to get max ally, then "Elite Training" opens up as a quest.

The quest is called "A Split in the Ashen Order" if you are helping the monks, and you just have to talk to Master Kufu. I would guess the scroll is for the quest for followers of the disciples.

As you come into Cave of Knowledge for this quest there are 2 NPCs there who offer quests.
Feng SLow Fist offers 'Fists of Furious Ferocity' which asks you to find the Disciple that stole Feng's key to the chest. So the player has to run through the instance and track down the disciples who had taken the key.
Additionally, there is the'Muck Bush Ingredients' quest given by Jiang Li. She asks for ten muck bushes, 5 seeds of muck bushes and 2 blooms from a muck bush.

I just did this quest, and never saw/picked up any scroll near Kufu. I zoned in, invised up to him, talked to him and left. Afterwards had a 4 hour lockout timer (no kills in zone). Went and turned quest in for reward.

to be exact you have to pick up a scroll on the table beside kufu to get the update.
