Can't get down the second hole either. Blocked by rocks. Went to the loc of the third hole, since the directions basically have you making a u-turn anyway, and found another hole blocked by rocks.
Not sure what the deal is with this. Have a Totem of the Otter, or other means of breathing underwater with you if you investigate this quest.

If you find the second hole block, you are most likely doing the same thing I did, trying to navigate in the Drowned Caverns:Outer Grotto zone (this first water zone you get to). THe zone you want is Hot Water, which is a zone within the Outer Grotto

This quest and another in here won't update with characters over 60, I read on the forums. I also read that a dev will have a fix in with LU24.

Well, this is bunk. I went intot he Hot Water instance twice now, killed The Ghostly Rosch Mal and no update. I cleared the entire zone of mobs just to be sure the second time, and talked to Khol both times after I returned, and he keeps telling me to return when I am ready. For some reason, it's not letting me update this quest at all. Any ideas?

Yah, I had problems with the rocks too. They were'nt placeable over some of the fissures. But I was able to place them over some of them.

I too tried this event at level 38 with a 63 mentored down to 38. I kill the The Ghastly Rosch Mal and no update. I think this quest is broken...also, I couldn't move any of the rocks on to any of the fissures...they never turned green for me. I had to ESC out in order to get rid of the rock so I could move on. I am going to report this bug...if anyone else has a clue, fill us in =)

I experienced the same thing as Gary. Zoned in, swam up, killed the ghastly rosch mal, and nothing.
The mobs were all grey to me at lvl 61, but still, shouldn't the quest get updated?

Ok, I killed the Ghastly Rosch Mal and the quest didn't update. Does it matter that if it cons gray?

Can also just camp after completing quest and when you zone back in you will be in Splitpaw Lair.

Use the 2 movable stones that you find to plug the holes as you go.
This avoids taking damage and losing breath from hot springs. Also, while under the influence of the springs, the octopi agro.

If you use the earring plus a waterbreathing spell the take away only hits one of them

The zone you need to enter inside the Outter Grotto is "Hot Water". In there you need to kill "The Ghastly Rosch Mal". Return to Khol Mudflank after this. I got 9.76g and no xp at lvl 50 :-)

This requires you to enter the Hollow zone. Once inside there is another zone called Hot Water. This zone is mostly underwater and there are lava things on the floor of the water that take away your ability to breath and do damage to you also, lasts about 30 seconds. Quest requires you to find the named undead mob that is in a room down on 3rd level. Kill him to recieve the exp/money reward :)

YOu have to kill a named mob in zone off of the Grotto (Hot Water I think it is called)
THe named most is called The Ghastly something and he can be found by swiminng down through two holes (those tooth cairns are around holes) and then you have to swim up another hole to the area where he is at.

You must kill the The Ghastly Rosch Mal in a zone that borders with the Drowned Caverns: Outter Grotto by the name of The Drowned Caverns: Hot Water (21, 31, -41). To get to him you can follow these directions from Biggerbadger:
- You must find a hole at -86, 23, 87
The actual loc of The Drowned Caverns: Hot Water is 25, 30.73, -40.79 . Be warned that inside of this zone there are many hot water springs that have a possibility of dropping your invisibility.
Once you have killed The Ghastly Rosch Mal you must return to Khol ( -67.06, -73.71, -168.73 ) for coin and experience.
