This change affects all characters on non-member accounts that were created on or after November 1, 2009. The Job Sampling structure also includes member accounts that discontinue membership, but have a character created on or after November 1, 2009.
All jobs are available to all players up to Level 5, at which time they require Membership. Once you hit the free level cap, you will be allowed to switch into the job still, but the combat, minigames and job-specific quests will be unavailable unless you are a Member. With the Sunstone Valley update, Brawler, Blacksmith, and Miner became 100% free to play. With the Hero Rises update, Archer and Medic became 100% free to play. All characters created after March 16, 2013, must get Archer to Level 20 to unlock the Ninja job, which you are able to level to Level 5 if you aren't a member, or Level 20 if you are a member. You must also get Medic to Level 20 to unlock the Wizard job, which you are able to level to Level 5 if you aren't a member, or Level 20 if you are a member. Finally, with this update you must also level Brawler to Level 20 to unlock the Warrior job, which you are able to level to Level 5 if you aren't a member, or Level 20 if you are a member. Job Centers have also been added to Sanctuary which will direct you to your job trainers to unlock that specific job and to begin that job's quest line with the Hero Rises update.
The Adventurer and Card Duelist remain 100% free to play.
If you created a character before November 1, 2009, characters on free accounts use the original job structure. The Legacy structure also includes member accounts that discontinue membership, but have a character created before November 1, 2009.
The Statistics for a Job are listed on the About Me section of the Job window. These Stats effect how a character performs in the Job related Mini Games. Increasing Job Statistics can increase a character's performance in Job related Mini Games. Job Statistics can be increased either as a character's level increases or as they obtain Job related clothing, weapons, tools, accessories, and shards that include bonuses for Job Statistics. Any Job related item (clothing, weapon, tools, accessories, and shards) that includes a Job Statistic bonus will be shown at the bottom of the tool tip for that item.
There are 3 general categories of Job Statistics:
Combat | Matching | Making |
---|---|---|
Archer | Blacksmith | Chef |
Brawler | Miner | |
Medic | Postman | |
Ninja | ||
Warrior | ||
Wizard |
For historical purposes, these job pages were retained, but the jobs themselves have been either removed, or rendered ineffective, in the game.
