StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void in Development
The stand-alone expansion to the SC2 trilogy will bring about an epic conclusion.
StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void was revealed during the BlizzCon 2014 Opening Ceremony. The conclusion to the long-running StarCraft II trilogy, the expansion is being released as a stand-alone expansion that will not require purchase of the previous two expansions.
New content and features include:
- Archon Mode: A competitive multiplayer mode where two players share control over a single base and units as they take on an enemy duo in multiplayer action
- Allied Commanders: A new gameplay mode that is an objective-based, cooperative experience. Players can team up and take on the roles of powerful commanders, each with their own unique abiltiies and upgrades, from the StarCraft saga.
- New Units and Abiltiies: Highlights include - Zerg will get the Lurker, Protoss will receive a weapon called "the Disruptor" and Terrans have new tech such as Tactical Jump.
Legacy of the Void continues the story where Heart of the Swarm left off. In a new campaign that brings about "an epic conclusion." Protoss legends Artanis and Zeratul attempt to unite their race in an intergalactic fight for survival against an ancient evil from the Void that threatens the universe. The fates of Terran hero Jim Raynor and Kerrigan, the Queen of Blades, also hang in the balance.
