Frontiers of Dragon's Prophet

Fresh from E3, Scott Hawkes brings details on how guilds can own a piece of Auratia

Want to know when Dragon’s Prophet is likely to head from open beta into live MMO? ZAM’s very own Scott Hawkes managed to catch up with senior producer Todd Carson at E3, and managed to get a few clues on when SOE’s free-to-play dragonfest will be ready for launch.

Hawkes managed to dig up details on the Frontier system – an extensive PvP system that will see guilds take ownership of huge fortified keeps known as Citadels, from where they can charge taxes on everyone else inhabiting that block of land. This could lead to politicking between guilds, back channel deals and (possibly) mass PvP as groups fight for dominance over a particular region.

Carson also stated that the Frontier system will be the benchmark for when Dragon’s Prophet will be ready for launch.

Outside of the new Frontier system, Hawkes also managed to get a glimpse at Lynor’s Lake: a frozen wasteland of a zone built within the skeleton of an “utterly massive elder dragon". This new zone will be open for dragon riders by late Summer.

We’ve covered Dragon’s Prophet extensively, including a comprehensive livestream series. With open beta now available, there’s no reason for you not to dive in and try it for yourself.

I actually enjoyed what I have played of Dragon's Prophet, up until the launcher took a crap and refuses to work. However, seriously? Frontiers? Could of named it something a little more original, I mean not like Dark age of Camelot had anything REMOTELY close to that...
