How to Win
We have a thread in the General WoW forums for the contest entries. All you have to do is post a response in the thread that states what you’re the most excited about in the new World of Warcraft: Cataclysm expansion. For example:

  • Playing as a Worgen.
  • All the new changes to old Azeroth. I can’t wait to see what it looks like!
  • The new talent changes. My class is going to be OP. QQ moar newbs.

We’ll be collecting entries for the next seven days, and on Monday August 2nd, 2010, we’ll be announcing all fifty winners of the giveaway and we’ll then send you your beta key for Cataclysm! It really is that simple. Just submit the part of Cataclysm you’re most excited about, and you're golden!

 

Please Note: You must enter your contest submission at the designated forum thread. Any comments on this article will not be counted as submissions.

 

Additional Note: Both Tankspot and Wowhead will be having their own beta key giveaways in the next few weeks, so make sure you check out our entire network family for all of your chances to win!

++ If you're an AddOn author WoWInterface has almost an unlimited number of keys to give away.

Rules and Qualifications

  • In order to use the beta key, you must have a WoW account in good standing.
  • Posts in the contest thread that are not contest submissions will be deleted.
  • Users may enter more than one Cataclysm item that they’re excited about, but only one entry will be counted per user.
  • We reserve the right to remove entries if we feel like you're not properly participating in the contest.
  • The contest begins on July 26th, and all winners will be announced on August 2nd, 2010.
  • The fifty (50) key winners will be drawn from the pool of eligible posters at the end of the entry period.

The things I am looking forward to the most are:
1. New warlock abilities (fel flame, dark intent, demon soul)
2. No more soulshards, I can finally utilize all that bag space
3. How the expansion ends (a thread of hypothetical endings on the WoW forums got me really excited)
4. Best thing ever, flying in Azeroth :D

There's a few reasons I'm excited about Cataclysm!

1. I'm going to create a Worgen Hunter and name it Lecutus, and level him all the way to 85 so I can see all the new lowbie content. I'm genuinely excited about that!

2. I finally get to see Malfurion Stormrage in the game! Bird-bear-elk-elf hybrid? Makes him even cooler!!

3. I will be making more Horde toons so I can level them to 85 and see all the new content on that side, as well. Also, watch as Garrosh either grows into the capable Warchief of the Horde, or if the Horde will turn on him and eventually kill him.

Wow, what a great contest and I mean how awesome wouldn't it be to run around as a horde gnome (goblin) I mean. I have been waiting for this since I started to play wow and their racials looks so cool :)
I would also fly around in Azeroth to get the new experience of the world. Our old Azeroth in a new shaped form, thats awesome! :)
I love to level alts but its always so BORING from 1-60 and the change in Cataclysm will make me LOOOOVE this game even more!
My main is a mage atm and to have the lovely BL button (time warp) will be so fun, atleast we got something cool and thats just one thing!

Really amped to see the new terrain and water wave effects.

A guildie sent me a screenshot of the shimmering flats,and it looks fantastic. Really keen to just fly over the terrain in Azeroth and check it all out :)

I'm most excited about the jump in difficulty with the new dungeons - the return of cc and single target dps. I'm also excited about the new paladin changes and see what Holy Power does to the Protection spec.

Honest to god im gonna explore every tiny part of the new torn apart Azeroth. Ive seen almost everything this game has to offer in pvp and pve, yet i believe lore and exploring are more exciting. I cant wait to reveal secrets, and if any - easter eggs left in this game. Most likely if I get into the beta ill be spending my time flying around Azeroth. Also, I'm looking forward on seeing the new instances available and even questing zones. Not to mention Goblins and Worgen. I've been playing this game the last five years, I've seen the most of everything from patch to patch, now we're at the steppes of yet another great expansion, shame that blizzard forgot to send me a beta key yet /slap.

10 reasons why (not) to wait for cataclysm.

1. I just want to see, if blizzard did the same like they did with wotlk. unfulfilled promises.

2. The new water engine, looks amazing on videos, but DAMN I wanna see it before it hits the stores.

3. Naked female goblins dancing on mailboxes?

4. I mean like, you play wow for over 5 years, you get so used to azeroth the way it is and then suddenly BAM! Deatwhing returns, Ragnaros attempts to burn the worldtree (it aint even close to the winter yet)

5. Ive seen these... racetracks all around, I'm actually verry curious about what theyre going to do with it. and flight masters? epic flying, will it be cheaper?

6. Dungeons, OH MY GOD... new dungeons, FINALLY. A place to farm some heroism points. goddamn I cant wait for those, I mean, skywall, have you seen it? seriously, LOOK IT UP NOW!

7. Neat changes to the major cities, except for undercity, nothings been released on that yet. I wonder whats actually going to happen with it. I mean, beeing so close to a lake, and the world getting screwed over like that all of a sudden, might it become an underwater amusement park or something, I mean, with goblins jumping in the game all of a sudden, who knows?

8. Lets get down to bussiness, this is the real thing... GEAR, I mean, vanilla wow was awesome, you had to work for your gear, actually grind ****... TBC was alright, the raids were hard, fun & rewarding but the grinding aspect became less of a part of the game (ezier gameplay means moar kids & nubs) And then well, wotlk, tbh, it was good, as I just said. WAS good. they made it lolface-able, it became so damn ez to get your gear, it isnt even fun anymore. Go to icc, farm badges, buy gear, the end... Raids got left out (except for the weekly) it just got worse then you can imagine.

9. New dances, AH MA GAWD, finally, NEW dances!

10. cmon' guys, cut me some slack alrdy... I just gave you 9 reasons! thats 8 more then you asked for! Hrrm, okey, here we go for the last reason... its the goddamn brand new f*****g expansion?!?!

(PS: roll horde, we got tastier fish feasts!)

Its been years since many a player has quested or traveled Kalimdor, that the curiosity of that unreachable area has bothered us.I'm speaking about the area known as Mount Hyjal!There has been many players,myself included, who tried to find a way into that area.In Cataclysm,we will be able to enter that zone by way of level 78-82 quests.An interesting feature will be "phased terrain".This will lead to areas involving Lore NPC's like Ysera,and Hammuul Runetotem.Our success in completing quests here will lead to the Assembly of the Ancients.The Story driven quests are more interesting this time around,and I personnaly can't wait to be a part of it!

I'm looking forward mostly to experiencing the new content of the game. Getting to see new raids/dungeons is really something i'm excited about. Exploring new zones as i level up to 85 will also be really fun!

I also look forward to see how things evolve around all the changes that will be done to game mechanics and stats espessially.

I'm looking forward to a ton of things; I'm looking forward to see how the old world will change. they look really different and I heard that the questing has changed too, which will be fun to experience.

I'm exited about the new zones especially zones such as Uldum and Vash'jir because I would love to see what an Egyptian theme and underwater theme is like.

Flying in Azeroth was something that I have been eagerly anticipating.

I must simply try out the goblins, they are so AWESOME :D

Everything about it sounds good, the new places, effects, both new races seems very fun. All to explore... It will be so fun! Archeology seems intresting and so do the new instances and the Maelstorm. Eventually, if I am the one who will get the chance to try it out earlier, I will craft a guild of Roleplay and PVP, I have not found out a good name or something about it yet, but I will do :) I Really want to see how the beginners quests (lvl. 1-5) will be, I have thought alot about it but I have no realistic idea of how it shall be. Still, I just love the game; the history, the funny ideas of how everything should look, the envirement and all the colours. I really would love to try it out! Peace <3
