Since we've drifted a bit from the just the MCU, I suppose I'll put this here instead of bothering with a new thread. Heroes Reborn premiered last week. I'm sure I'm not the only one to see it, but just in case I was, here goes.
The show picks up a few years after the Heroes series finale. Everything takes place in the same universe and involves some, though not all of the old characters. So far Noah and a few of his Primatech buddies have shown up. Suresh has been mentioned, though he hasn't actually appeared yet. The same with Claire. HIro was featured in a preview, so he's going to show up eventually.
Aside from that, there are several sets of new characters. A few people with powers (now called Evos), and couple normal people that are hunting down and killing anyone they can find with powers. The new people with powers aren't terribly interesting. Most of them are pretty young, still in high school. I'm sure it's to appeal to the younger crowd, which doesn't really work much for me. I wouldn't mind some more mature characters showing up.
I'm going to give it a chance. The first two episodes were decent enough, but I don't know if they'll keep my attention.

It looks like they're adding in more of the detail that actually kinda made the world interesting. For those of us who followed the online comic strips, there was a whole heck of a lot more stuff in there than ever appeared, much less was even mentioned/referenced in the original TV show. Whole sets of characters, groups, objectives, etc, were there. Stories that went to past and future were there (although to be fair, some of them were just as "bad" as the TV series itself). It was actually kinda interesting, and it would be cool if they could capture that kind of feel. I know they can't have the wide variation of stories and settings and characters in a series (actors cost money after all), but moving away from the core story that was in the original series is not a bad idea. IMO, they got really bogged down (and made some *terrible* plot decisions).
Still on the fence on this one. I was so terribly disappointed with how quickly the original went downhill. My fear is that this is just going to be the same thing, rehashed with new characters, but with the same poor writing and "gotcha" style twists (ie: not really twists at all, so much as silly random stuff that made no sense at all). I really really hope they do it right though. It had so much promise the first time.

HBO confirms talks about preliminary talks for a Watchmen TV show. Kevin Feige, the guy more or less in charge of the MCU, says Ronda Rousey would be neat as Carol Danvers, Captain Marvel. Let's see how she is in the Roadhouse remake. And surprising enough, in a completely unsurprising way, the sequel to Terminator Genisys is "on hold indefinitely."

I'm hoping they do something more with the whole Simmons missing thing. There was a lot of build up with the monolith thingie last season, then her getting sucked in at the end, and it would be a huge let down for the whole thing to just be "Well, it was a portal, she went through, then she got rescued, and the portals destroyed, now let's move on to other stuff!". Hopefully, there's some reason for it existing in the first place, and something meaningful happened during the months that she was wherever she was. My concern with this season is that it looks like they're lining up a *lot* of different plot threads, and they may not be able to do them all justice. You've got the new inhuman threat. You've got the new government threat. You've got the new Hydra/Ward threat. You've got Daisy trying to recruit people, Coulson with a new hand (ok, minor, but still could be added fun), all sorts of personal stuff that may pop in, half the team off doing other stuff, and who knows what else going on. Unless they're really careful, it could become a jumble.
But I'm hoping they do it right. Cause if done right, this could be a pretty awesome season with more super powered stuff, and assorted craziness.

I imagine the Hydra element is there to lead into the Captain America: Civil War movie, the Inhumans are to fully install a racism and xenophobia subplot that Marvel has with the X-Men, since they can't use the X-Men, and the Simmons offworld leading to Guardians connection of some sort. The Inhumans stuff I still think is too soon, considering their movie is still years and years off. One episode in, so we'll see. If anyone is keeping a calendar for movie releases, add "Ant-Man and the Wasp" for July 6, 2018, and "Captain Marvel" has been moved back (again) to March 8, 2019 from November 2, 2018 and "Black Panther" has moved forward to February 16, 2018 from November 2, 2018. Additionally, three new untitled projects have been added with release dates of May 1, 2020, July 10, 2020 and November 6, 2020 respectively, though no indication of what those projects are. Hope no one wants off this wild MCU ride, because they're going for as long and as hard as possible until falling off the edge of the Clint Eastwood Ravine. But on the surface: More Ant-Man is always a plus, I just hope they include some more of Juan Punch Man Michael Pena overly explaining things.

Mark Hamill confirms he'll be returning to Flash for more Trickster shenanigans. While talking father figures, in a trend that I find most excellent, Paul Reubens to join Gotham as Penguin's father. Which is hilarious, since for one Reubens has the same lanky physique as Taylor. Second, Peewee was Danny DeVito's Penguin's father in '92's Batman Returns. So we've got Shipp who was the original Barry Allen in the 90s, Hamill playing a character he played in the 90s (with Shipp!) who has a son taking up the family business, and now we've got Reubens reprising his role as the father of a Penguin.
Also I finally found out Chris Hardwick was the guy on MTV's Singled Out. It just never occured to me and was never interested enough to find out, but huh. Filming for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will start in February, and has almost wrapped casting. Also according to Gunn there will be at least one new character added to the team, and Nebula will show up as an 'important character' in the film as well. I hope it's more Cosmo, though I'd certainly settle for Mantis. Doubt it'll be Moondragon. She's set to star in the Road House movie, taking Patrick Swayze's role so I guess lots of tight pants and roundhouse kicks to be expected. She's also going to co-star with Mark Wahlberg in an action movie titled "Mile 22," which I don't have the interest to look up any more information on. Physically, sure, she's got it. An attractic blonde who artists can't seem to figure out what to do with her hair. So she's got that going for her. Some more acting experience and education couldn't hurt. So let's say she's 25% acceptable. I can't imagine her three acting credits are exactly Shakespearean in depth and range. Also how tall is she? I haven't seen too many pictures, but she looks kind of mousy and Carol is kind of a tall drink. You know, mousy for a person that could turn me into a pretzel without breaking a sweat.
Lionsgate looks to adapt the comic "Z-Men" into a film. The comic is set in the world of "Return of the Living Dead," with Secret Service agents out investigating the events of the film. Basically it'll be a movie about a comic about a movie. Haven't read it, but Return is my favorite zombie franchise so that at least says something.
In moderately sad news, it looks like Warner Bros is going to take a hit for "Pan," despite Hugh Jackman's over-the-top acting as Blackbeard. I mention it as taking big hits might make them gun-shy in taking chances, and seeing as how they're the alternate producers of superhero flicks, that would be bad. They're just barely entering the whole shared universe hero movie fad, I'd hate for them to fail before truly getting fully in.
On the rumor mill, apparently the Christopher Yost and Craig Kyle script for the next Thor movie, Ragnarok, was so dark that Marvel may have hired a comedy director to bring some levity to it. Because that's a great idea. There's also maybe some women to be Valkyries. And the every present rumor that Mark Ruffalo and the Hulk will be a part of the show, on a distant planet that "isn't Asgard and isn't Earth."
In completely unrelated news, Gun Media has a kickstarter for a Friday the 13th game where seven people play camp counselors and one as Voorhees trying to kill them. 1v7 in a semi-open world set in Crystal Lake sounds like a wet dream I once had. Their goal is $700k, and as of writing this and checking the webpage they are at $200k, and they're set to end at (surprise, surprise) Friday, November 13.
In more related edited news, FX jumping onto the bandwagon developing "Y: The Last Man" as a tv series. The story is about how one day all mammals with the Y Chromosome all die simultaneously except for one dude and a monkey. In another rumor, Netflix is rumored to be looking into adding Moon Knight to it's catalog. Kind of like Batman with multiple personalities and severe mental issues ... so almost exactly like Batman.

They can't figure out what to do with the F4, and have some modorate success with the mutants. I don't think it is true though, since there are already two mutant based tv shows in development. One featuring Charles Xavier's son Legion on FX, and another based on the Hellfire Club on Fox. Paramount is also rumored to be retooling a
Edit: Fox quickly put a lid on the F4 x X-M rumor, saying there is no deal. Which amounts to nothing, really, since they could just be saying it to keep the deal under wraps until it is all finalized. That's (allegedly) what spooked Jason Statham away from being Bullseye, so playing closer to the vest isn't a bad strategy. Though, I still doubt it is an true and accurate statement.

I like to think of myself as optimistic. Like the WiiU game, it's good as a party game so more of those are always a plus. A few drinks, lots of screaming. 
As long as they make it 80s campy and not remake serious gore I think I could enjoy it.
In other non-news, Michael Pena'sJuan Punch Man Luis narrates for the first trailer for the Ant Man Blu-Rays. Not nearly as good as his two narration scenes in the actual movie, but they can't all be winners. Digital on November 7th, and the Blu-Ray/DVDs should be out around December 8th.
Some fire to the smoke, but apparently Marvel is "near a deal" to bring Hulk Ruffalo to Thor: Ragnarok. Still not particularly conclusive, I could live with it happening. Thor x Hulk was the best part of the first Avengers movie so there's some chemistry there.
According to the Latino Review, a trusted source for misinformation, Rachel McAdams will be playing Christine Palmer, a surgical assistant in the upcoming Doctor Strange movie. Christine Palmer was one of the people to take up the role of the Night Nurse, a doctor for super heroes on the down low, in 1973. Some other people, myself included, were speculating that'd be the most likely scenario, assuming the other rumors are close to true. There's also the possibility that she won't be the Night Nurse, but the name is tossed in as an Easter Egg. Like Cosmo in Guardians, or Agent 13 in Winter Soldier.

Fandango confirms there will be a Star Wars Marathon during the premiere of the next movie, which I guess means the Marvel Marathon (Or was it Lord of the Rings? There's a Wal-Mart Supercenter for weapons in Gotham. That whole sequence of events had me in stitches. It's the kind of nonsense I read comic books for. While that was going on, apparently some game was going on, and during this feetsphere competition the third trailer for Star Wars aired. Personally, I hadn't realized there was even a second trailer. Also in Star Wars news, apparently advanced ticket sales are a thing that exists which is news to me, and Star Wars apparently obliterated the previous title holder, 2012's Hunger Games. Fandango claims they've sold "eight times" more than the previous title holder, and while there are no official numbers yet, the previous number was roughly 2,000 sold out showtimes. So ... I guess if anyone was planning on seeing Force Awakens on opening weekend is out of luck?

Kurtwood Smith joins season two of Agent Carter as a "veteran of the War Department," presumably to either repeatedly call her an idiot or to shoot her hand off with a shotgun. I think it’s the duty of the comedian to find out where the line is drawn and cross it deliberately.
Netflix keeps bugging me to renew my sub and offering me a free month. I might as well use it next month to watch JJ for free. As to the new Star Wars movie, I honestly don't have high hopes for it after seeing what Abrams did to Star Trek, but I'm still going to go see it. Just not during the opening weekend. Way too damn many people are going to be there for my taste.
Flash: Finally got around to watching this week's episode. Been playing Zestiria now that that is out instead of watching my normal TV shows. Is the black guy that shows up in the preview for next week going to be the Cyborg character? I remember reading that character showing up in one of the past pages of this topic, but I don't remember if it was Flash or another show.
Arrow: I'm waiting for Palmer to show back up. He's not dead, just shrunk. Wonder how small they are going to make his initial mistaken shrink. And did Arrow just introduce Gambit?
Edit: I watched the latest episode of Arrow, the guy's name is "Double Down"? Also, looks like Palmer is trying to contact Felicity through her cell phone. I'm not all that interested in Captain Jack and the Canary Twins. More interested in them getting shrinking Ray out there.

Next week's Walking Dead is going to show trailers for Preacher and Into The Badlands, so that ought to be neat. Badlands is made by the people who made (made or starred in. I forget which. Either way ...) Tai Chi Zero, which also aired over the weekend as part of AMC's Kung Fu Friday. It was probably, by far, the most comic book movie I'd ever seen and if they even bring 10% of that to this show, I'll be happy. I've got my concerns with Preacher, since it's being done by Seth Rogan who I seem to despise as an actor. Also Dominic Cooper doesn't look like a Dillon male like Jon Bernthal.
Have like four minutes of Evil Dead.
