Quick Observation: It was, what, two weeks ago when I mentioned how I hadn't seen any actual commercials for Avengers outside the many youtube videos? Yeah, now it's pretty much all I see. They really need to spread this practice out.
Marvelous Edit-ion: Nicole Perlman and Meg LeFauve to both write the Captain Marvel movie. First step so pretty inconsequential news, and it's not like writers aren't changed so who knows.

Daredevil season two confirmed, which is good. New showrunners, which might be a thing of concern. Might in the sense that the first season's team was pretty solid, so any change should be at least a concern in my opinion. Spectacular Edit-ion: Allegedly the short list of actors to be cast as Peter Parker. They really are going with kids, and I'm mildly relieved none of them are Jaden Smith. Granted, it was a one off joke on my part, but still.

Just came home from a 3D screening of Age of Ultron. Wow! Incredible action, the typical Whedon humor (and tons of it) and way more character development than I ever expected. Also, cameos. Cameos everywhere.

Due to the wonders of the internet, a very watchable cam copy may be available. I'm still going to see it in the theater, big screen, better sound, maybe even some 3D. I'll refrain from discussing any details until next week though. The only thing I'll mention now, Hawkeye has the best line in the movie when he's explaining the situation to Scarlet Witch.

Disney expected the foreign release to open to a roughly $160m to $170m weekend. Apparently they hit $200m. Not bad, and hasn't even be released in (I believe) China yet, and the domestic numbers will most likely be another $200m. Not really saying anything about the quality, and I'm avoiding all reviews, but at the very least the franchise'll be going for years to come and hopefully convince them to take bigger risks.

Yeah, Loki's staff is pretty central to the AoU plot. I haven't seen the new episode of Agents yet, but if it's that the tie in, it's not a terrible way to link them.

The staff wasn't the hamfisted part. Raina in the last couple minutes of the episode was. But even the staff was only brought up in the last little bit.

I probably won't see it until Saturday early afternoon. I could probably go Thursday night, I think the first showing is 7pm according to my local theater's website. But I don't like the idea of rushing home after work to get to the theater. Saturday would be more relaxing.
Friday would be better since I have that day off but family members I would go with do not have it off.

So it turns out my mother is graduating from college on Friday. So that rules out Friday as a view date.

Have some more 80s Jubilee. I admit I tend to be wary of all things Fox X-Men related, but I also have to admit that Days of Future Past was an amusing ride, though not sure I'd say I would have paid to see it in theaters. This 80s era film looks to be hitting marks that pique my interest quite a bit. I can't say I am going to see it in theaters, but unlike the last few X-Men films I honestly feel that I possibly might.

I don't think it has been mentioned yet, William Hurt is coming back as General Ross in Civil War (source). Making him the first actor from Incredible Hulk to appear in another MCU movie (Stan Lees cameos aside). I hope they drop at least half a sentence explaining what's up with Betty. And the Leader.

And on the television, we have no Mockingbird spin-off (thank god), Forever has been canceled (I angry), but Shield has season 3 (no surprise), Agent Carter gets season 2 (somehow. Seriously, why isn't Hayley just made Agent 13? They already changed Rhodey between movies, and he actually did things in the movies), and Legends of Tomorrow officially picked up. (Atom related? Maybe he'll finally shrink and not be Iron Man anymore) Oh, and Flash and Arrow both have their next seasons as well. (okay, I forgot to look.) Gotham (blah), iZombie (not so bad, but competes with AoShield) and finally (I think) Constantine might come back if NBC's next show fails.

Atom was pretty bad in the last episode of Arrow. All 30 seconds he was on it. Definitely needs to drop the Iron Man routine, cause it doesn't work well.

Yeah. Galavant was kinda funny and weird starting out, then as the episodes progressed it just got more and more dumb. Dunno. Just didn't do it for me at all. Seemed like they were trying to hard to do the whacky humor thing and fell flat most of the time.
I'm somewhat disappointed that they cancelled Forever. I'd heard mid season that it was on the chopping block, but its ratings were not "bad", and had maintained at a decent level rather than slipping (I think they actually went up towards the end). I liked the premise, and given the nature of the show (It's not super expensive to produce what's basically a crime drama show), medium level ratings should have been sufficient to get a second season.
